""Anyways why don't we have some fun how about coming up with a VS Y campaign? See what we can do
VS Economy: Better than walking!
Or a cattle truck
Or Ryanair
Like the UCS, give the product sufficient to sell itself.

the problem with that is it's not on all the flights, yes you can mention it as VS does, but you dont want to push it to the front and then have a pax get on an LGW aircraft and find that in fact they don't have it.

Given that product is part of the marketing mix, I would say that the rumoured re-vamp of Y is totally the correct thing to do.
But to be really radical, hows about dumping PE. Then have a range of different seating options in the expanded Y. Y(normal) which is pretty much as is. Y+ for £100 or so more which gives you 34"pitch. Y++ for £150 which gives you exit rows. For a suplement of £30 you can have an premium meal option. And super Y for roughly PE prices which gets you rougly the PE product but with Y ticket flexibilities. Then the tag can be something like "Virgin Atlantic - have it your way.

Hmmm. Maybe a bit rude but...
Put a picture of an average VS crew member and BA crew member in uniform with the tag line "Who would you rather spend 8 hours with?" on adverts.
Would be catchy and in VS style.
