Never heard of VS doing one. I wouldn't expect them too in the future, either.

They will talk to BA Golds though.

Star Alliance *usually* do one every year, but maybe they've worked out that it's p**sing their existing members off... [:w]

Im secure on my VS Gold for another year or so :D.......Looking to see who might be matching VS .... I did the Star Alliance match last year... got a BMI Gold ..... ..... pretty much pointless as I didnt make use of it !! and as a side the gold upgrade vouchers they give out are worthless anyway now they have done away with business cabin on short haul !!!

Cheers

I asked continental to match VS last year and they said sure, send a copy of your statement and we will match for a year. So I did.

Then I didn't fly on continental due to a hurricane and my gold is useless!

Beware of going mad on matches. It is too easy to get a match then make no use of it. Once you have done that it is a black mark against you for furture matches........

Well, firstly - it's for Asian residents. [?]

Also, if someone's not already a WorldPerks member, it's VERY difficult to enroll as a European resident now as they redirect everyone to the combined "FlyingBlue" FFP.

Bah Geography - It didn't stop me getting a BMI card for the dublin match last year!!

and yes I realise the T&C's allowed me to join before someone jumps in!!

But I pay homage to the fountain of knowledge that is v-flyer!![oo]

Has anyone asked for a status match at any LAS casinos? How does that process work?

Vegas casinos do not offer a staus match..

It's a very different process,we have casino hosts, their only job is to get players in the door and make sure that the hotel treats them right.

For doing that they get a % of their play.

Now what can happen is a host movies from say a Harrah's property to a MGM property, they will then invite their players in by offering them free room's etc...

From their it is down to the players to play,if they don't play they wont get invited back.

The casino doesn't care if you win or you lose, just as long as you play,in fact the casino's like it when you win...why??? so you will tell your friends that you won their and with any luck they will come gamble there as well.

Now there are two ways of rating a player, one for slots and the other for table games.

For slots/video poker it's coin in,how much you wager, these will be translated into points, every casino has a different claculation in figuring how many coins = 1 point and what you get for the points.

On tables every casino pretty much works in the same way.

They take the av. bet multiply it by the length of time played divided by the house advantage...this is called the theoretical win...they will then give you a % of that as your comp value.

The host's job is to look for plays with a constantly high theoretical win and to make sure they are happy.
