Reward flight - what are the chances ?

8 days to go until our trip to India (on VS300 11th March) and still no reward availability. The miles are really burning a hole in my pocket!

FC tell me that there are less then 10 seats available in UC now, but won't tell me any more than that. Friendly FC person suggested I keep trying until departure [y].
Then another day a not so helpful FC person said its unlikely but to try at the airport [n]!

Have also been checking the VA website 'flights for miles' everyday. There is 1 reward seat available, but I need 2.

Should I give up hope ? Not sure anyone can re-assure me but its been good to rant and get it off my chest !

Everything is still crossed.

Hi, I understand the frustration. Just keep trying and something might turn up. I have managed to get reward seats by phoning FC from the car on the way to the airport before now.

And it's definitely worth asking at checkin if you haven't heard anything else by then.

As of now your flight is showing 10 open seats in Upper. The planned aircraft is an A343. I suggest that you ring up VS tomorrow, which is 7 days from departure. In the meantime I suggest you take the 1 "G" seat being offered, and as the flight day approaches, you can ask FC to consider releasing you another seat.

I just checked again and that one seat is no longer coming up as available. Oh well, I will be on the phone to FC first thing tomorrow and if no joy then I'll just keep trying next week.

If all fails then I guess I'll be happy to settle down for the night in PE, and use my miles on my next holiday !

Well, we are back from our fantastic holiday to India and Dubai. Will post TR for our outgoing flight, but just wanted to say thanks to everyone as all your advice helped in us getting our upgrade to UC to Delhi. We got to the airport nice and early and were able to upgrade at the ticket desk.
It wasn't UCS but was still a great experience. The clubhouse was fabulous and we even managed to get a massage each while we were there. Also enjoyed a Redhead cocktail, a burger and White chocolate cheese cake (to die for !!!).

Now just need to start saving up the miles for next time. Definitely want to go back to Dubai - an amazing place. Jumeirah beach hotel is fantastic.
