re showers

If you guys and gals want showers in upper class , you will have to, factor the shower time into your sleep time ,what mean is that a lot of upper class passengers use the switching on of the fasten seat belt signs as a signal to use the tiolets to get changed freshen up etc, whilst the crew are trying to secure the cabin for the approach and landing. If we had say 70-80 upper class seats on the A380 and say 4 showers , to avoid a last minute rush there would have to be a cut off time say an hour before the descent when the showers are turned off, as for design and materials used, i will leave that to the experts, but , turbulence, decompressions etc , have to be considered.
Another idea i have is that upper class passengers,could be asked if they will be using the shower on board , and if so give a unique code which is entered into the shower ( yes just like a car wash:D), the shower will then start and end at a set time, taking into account the limited capacity of the shower tanks on board, anyway enough of my mad ideas.. lets hear some mor suggestions:D !

Given VS passion on weight reduction (eg cushions) The extra weight of all that water I think would be an immediate no no.

I doubt that we will see this at all. With the room that the showers take would take up, seat could be fitted thus generating more revenue. Also as mentioned above, the weight of the water would be another factor. More water = more fuel needed = extra costs to VS which would in turn be passed onto the passengers

Possibly a more economical option is to get more revival lounges at airports?

The shower rooms would have to be quite large because I would think you would need to change into and out of your clothes in a dry private area before entering the shower.

If not, then you would either have wet clothes, or half naked UC passengers wandering up and down in the aisles trying to change in their suites.

Regarding the weight issue, whilst there is no way to get around it on take off, perhaps the landing weight could be reduced by jettisoning the used water. I don't fancy the idea of going in last in a recycled water shower.

Maybe instead of all of this, part of the IFBT could include some sort of a sponge bath.

for those of you who missed the program on the shower things the water used per shower is less than 2 ltrs this water is then re cycld in as much as it is used in tth e toilets not in other showers.

I agree I dont think it will happen. I know with the UCS the design team wanted to install a fish tank behind the bar unit and because of the weight of all the water and the work of cleaning the tanks out it was not allowed some department in VS
