Hello from the clubhouse

Bit of a mini crisis in the lounge this morning (which Imust say is now HUGE :D). Got there for just before eight and there was minimal power working: only a few lights were on, and all they could serve was cold drinks - okay for bucks fizz then!, limited tea and coffee and no hot food.
The staff did well to keep the cold breakfast deli flowing but it was all a bit stressful, especailly as this was my brother's first UC experience.

All working fine now after they shut down all the power in the CH for ten minute or so. Took a couple of pictures of the place in darkness just lit by the ambient light from outside and will post when get the chance.

That sounds about right - BAA charging astronomical rent and then cocking up the supply of utilities. I've been in the CH before when they have had no water supply before, which was a real pain (no haircut and a long walk to use the toilets in the main departure lounge).

And then only last week, upon arrival to Revivals, Sarah and I are informed that there is no hot water, and hasn't been for a week due to BAA doing some upgrade work on a boiler that was going to take an hour. So no lovely hot shower, just grief. They were offering passengers use of showers at the Park Inn which is a short journey away by bus, but we declined.

Thanks,
Richard

The first time we used Revivals had the same problem but they'd made arrangements with one of the American carriers to use theres and we were escorted down. Much more sensible a solution.

Well at least you took the setback with good grace.

Unlike Snoop Dog who, according to CNN, is currently in custody due to a slight fracas he and his entourage caused when trying to access one of the lounges at LHR today.

Allegedly Mr Dog was the only one with a first class ticket, his 'peeps' were all flying in economy. So they ended up in a duty free store playing catch (poorly) with scotch bottles and ended up assaulting some police officers.

Well schnizzle my nizzle G

Yeah happened to me and missus once. Showers were off and we got escorted down to the United first lounge i think.
