Window here. I sleep and need the legroom - and I dont like to be disturbed
At 6'5, when travelling Y it's an Aisle sit always... I do enjoy tripping everyone up.. it's simply astonishing how many people pay no attention to where they are walking and I've had a few go A over T, of course I offer a most sincere sounding apology [}:)]
[:#]I hope i've never tripped any of you guys up!
However on my last trip back from Shanghai in Business (TR is still pending I promise), I bagged a window seat and being a day flight, I just watched the world slip peacefully by below me for pretty much the full 11 hours!... And seriously regretted not bringing a camera in my carry on.
On one occasion on a night flight back form Toronto, I somehow ended up with a right hand window seat in Y, and I remember staring out of the window at the blackness sometime midflight, and suddenly feeling incrediably lonely thinking that there was no land between me and the South Pole!

I like the aisle. I like my independence, and ability to get up when I want. (Also don't mind if someone wants to get out, as it's a good break to stand up and stretch).
As for the window, well - UCS makes that issue easier (both aisle and window), but otherwise I'm usually flying the same routes on most of my flights. As a result, I've often "seen it all before". Between comfort of an aisle (I'm tall) and looking at the same old scenery, I'm in the comfort camp.

We will usually choose window and generally I let Birkin take the window seat so if a 3-4-3 I get the middle, not so good for someone of my height and build but what the heck. When in UC we have always taken a window but may sometime try the "Double Suites" but probably only if we couldn't get window seats.
Agree with James and the others, so eloquently put by Paul about "breaking the seal" which can be a pain, and here was me thinking that Paul went for an aisle so he could be first at the bar, well second if mcuth is on the flight

I tend to go for an aisle seat on a daytime flight as it enables me to get up and walk around a bit. Nighttime flights tend to be the window option as I don't want to be disturbed and I have the window for the (normally early morning) arrival.
Do sometimes find myself yearning for a window during daytime flights though.

Well, I quite like the window seat - not just for the take off/landing views, but because the wall is something to lean on when sleeping
That said, I like an aisle seat too from an access point of view (especially after an extended visit to the CH
) - but I hate having to get up to let people out [}:)]. In PE, getting the exit row solves this dilemma, but I've yet to get it absolutely right when travelling down the back....
Too right

Am i the only person so anally retentive that i have particular seats that i want to sit in, never mind 'window or aisle'?
Anyway, i'll always choose the window seat as i like to have a nose out the window and see what is going on - mostly cloud i know, but still. I do like watching all the ground movements when im in my seat and getting that aerial view on take-off - geez im a nerd! Funny thing is that its still as interesting and fun for me to fly (and fly VS) now as it was on my first flight
Thanks,
Sarah

Glad you said that!!
I'll always choose 5K or 8K for the Airbusses and Boeing respectively or 15D&G if itÕs the double suites and im with LRoM (and 79A&C or 18A&C for PE) although more recently i have let it rest in the lap of the gods - or namely the check-in agent. I can't say that there is really a bad suite, and i have been in one that is next to the curtain and found that equally good, despite many negative comments from fellow V-Flyers, so im not sure why i make such a point of getting 'my' seat.
Next time we all fly away on a social, i think i had better get my seat reservations in early! LOL
Thanks,
Sarah
