we are occasional travellers ie. once a year if that. Myself and my husband both got flying miles for our flights to MCO last year. We are planing on going to florida again next september and will probably use miles + money if the price is okay. This will pretty much use up my points. The year after we could use my husbands points again for miles + money, but the expiry will be september 2008. As long as we book the flights 11 months in advance we will be using the points within this time, but will only be flying in September 2008. Do the points get used when you book or when you take the flight?

Thanks

The points get subtracted when you book.. but the 'expiry date' of your points balance gets reset to three years from the date of the flight you have booked.

You need activity on your Flying CLub account at least once every 3 years. And by activity it does not necessarily have to be a flight - it can be a partner hotel stay, purchase of a case of wine from Virgin wines - the list goes on.

Thanks,
Richard

Virgin CC points are an easy way to maintain your miles too and therefore any purchase on the card once every three years will do the trick!
