Hi guys,

Done a quick search and couldn't find anything that was too closely releated to this so gonna post a quick question.

Fly on Saturday and gonna use OLCI. Flying in PE. I know a few people have been upgraded when using the OLCI. Is there anything obvious to look out for when you complete it? Is it as obvious as when you choose you seat you choose one in upper? and of course has anyone had this happen to them? Looking on expedia the flight seems to be fairly full, I will of course be happy in PE but its always nice if these things happen:)

The fact that one of the UC seats had been selected for me was the give away when it happened to me. After choosing my seat, I did notice that there was also a notice towards the bottom of the confirmation page that explained that I had been upgraded.

Good luck, and I hope you enjoy your flight whichever class you are seated in :-)

Gareth.

Gelding,
Being FC Silver doesn't hurt your chances, of course.

^^ You realise the general check in agent has no authority whatsoever to upgrade pax??

Whatever moves are being done are pre-determined before check in opens for a flight...so if you're lucky enough to have been selected fo upgrade it'll happen whether you use OLCI or queue with the masses on the day.

^^Yes normally BUT we've had checkin nearly completed before a seemingly irrelevant query has triggered a call elsewhere resulting in an opup. The opup wasn't given when we initially checked in.

Not sure if that's true all the time. We were flying home on a BA flight from Rio just using Airmiles. As the 1st 2 to check in, I asked for front row seats with leg room. I was asked to wait one moment while the lady picked up the phone, chatted away in Portuguese, smiled and put the phone down and advised that we were being upgraded to PE (on a non-revenue ticket. Funnily enough before check in I even asked at the ticket desk if I could u/grade on this ticket and I was told that it would not be permitted!).

So a bit of charm and politeness on the day could work, especially if you check in early.
