Looks like I'll finally get my first taste of UC very soon on a "flying" visit to BOM.
Sadly it is a trip I really don't want to make due to the fact that I will be enjoying the company of Miss PVG in the UK at the same time.
So my plan is to arrive fresh and relaxd at 0730 (or whatever the arrival time is) do a days work at our office in Mumbai, and escape on the 1330(ish) departure the next day or at the very most, the day after that.

A couple of questions:
Last time I checked on here there was still a chance of getting a non UCS plane to BOM. Is this still the case or do I understand correctly now that the last non UCS plane has left the fleet? Very important since I'm relying on a good nights sleep to get a full(ish) working day when i arrive.

Does anybody know where the "Rolta Technology park, Andheri(east), Mumbai" is? And realistically how long from Plane seat to office, with only hand luggge?

Thanks in advance!

The last non UCS 343 is still in service. From 27/04 DEL and BOM are UCS flights as advertised in local papers. Since 27/04 two flights to BOM have been operated by VAEL. Else you are 99% safe to get UCS considering it was advt all over that from 27/04 its all UCS.

From our gorgeous airport to Andheri should take about 15 mins once out of the airport in the morning considering there will be no traffic

Thanks dell for your excellent reply... Perhaps I can squeeze the trip duration down to a day and a half and be back before Miss PVG misses me [:o)]
Sad really, because I love travelling to new places and would like to have a while longer to spend in Mumbai... Oh well I'm sure I'll be back in the future, and right now I must get my priorities right!

BOM is a big city of large extremes really strecthing both ends of the spectrum. Lived there for 18 years. Got some lovely hotels and eating places now[:p]

I'm a convert to China, but I'm looking forward to comparing the other booming Asian economy first hand.

I've found a better flight time combination now... Out on VS and back on BD. I could almost make it a day trip!
I know BD isn't a great business class product, but at least I'll still get some virgin miles, and arrive back to the UK early morning.

It most certainly has - I had the pleasure of spending a long weekend there on business. It made a refreshing change from Bangalore! The clubs are open late to start with [^][}:)]
