Right then. Looks like i've managed to finally get a taste of UC on a flight to BOM on May 31st. Sadly it's a trip I don't really want to do at the moment, but needs must.

What I want is an Idiots guide to maximising my benefit of the Club house.

What can I do there?
What needs booking in advance and how do I do that?

I'm planning on eating and drinking before the flight so that I can sleep the entire journey and be ready to work on arrival.

I'm hoping to get back on BA due to the time being better. Is there a BA equivilent of the Revivals lounge for early morning arrivals?

Thanks

- Get to the CH as early as you can.
- Take a look at the treatments available and book in advance if you are eligible to.
- Take your cossie and use the spa pool.
- Eat and drink as much as you want in the CH - food quality will be better and choice of drinks will be better too.
- If you want reading material for the flight and are happy to take pot luck, there should be newspapers and magazines available
- Use some time to enjoy the different seating areas. I missed out on this last time I was in there.

As I'm taking my wife on her first UC via LHR later this year I have told her all about the wonderful treatments.

Can anyone tell me more about the tanning treatment?

We are visiting South Africa for a wedding in December and its likely that we will be pale so it may be best for photos :D

BA have arrivals lounges in both T1 and T4 for BAEC AU,First and CW PAX,never been to T1 but the T4 serves a very good breakfast and has good steam showers. Both are open until until 2pm.

Definitely call the CH in advance whenever possible and book a spa treatment. The services are complimentary but gratuities are appreciated and accepted.

On each visit I have found the food in the CH worth eating -- and it goes without saying, the drinks are free and more than ample.

The whole CH experience is a joy in my opinion, so leave at least 2 hours of your day to truly see it all (and even then, you may not have time to see everything). Relax and enjoy!

Check out the VS Web site and look inside the club house pages for a list of treatments. There all there, choose your favourite and ring the clubhouse to make a reservation. If you're in UC or gold you can reserve, if you're taking a guest they can't reserve but can select from available treatments on the day.

I agree with others, if its your first time, take your time. Having a treatment, a drink and some breakfast can eat up all the normal pre-boarding time so you might want to take a little longer.

Also explore it all, take a drink up to the sky lounge and roof garden, try the deli, etc.

Enjoy!
