Not that I am aware of. I thought you had to hand in the voucher at check in, but of course I fully expect to be corrected by Decker who is our resident FlyingCo (and Classics) guru.

I have once, but not on other occasions.

It's a note that's held on your PNR (there are no "vouchers" anymore) - so when (if) they're doing the upgrades 24 hours out, they can put yours through at that point, so they system will auto-assign you a J/W seat when using OLCI.

The last time I used it, however, it kept my assigned seat and it was only processed at the airport.

:) It IS on the PNR but I have no clue on the upgrade front yet. We tend to use FlyingCo for CH access...

If the 'voucher' details are in the PNR then 'Flight Control' will review the PNRs sometime before the flight (usually at least 12 hours before) and action... so if there is room the Upgrade will be actionned before check-in and you will get it... if the J/Wcl cabin is almost full then the upgrade will be held until 1 hour before departure (just in case there are go-shows or sales at the aiport) and administered by the gate staff. In which case your boarding card will reject and you'll be given another one.

Got to check in and could get get a boarding pass even though I had cheked in online, I needed to pay a change fee, what is the point of the on line check in?

Finally managed to check in and was handed my boading pass. Asked if there would be a chance of getting my upgrade and with a blank look and a quick check on the paper list I was moved without a word. The staff used to human from what I recall.

I am not sure why my upgrade was not shown when I was checked in at the desk.
