Hmmmm [:?] After all the talk about the suitabilty of the thread... a high percentage have actually given their waist size! ;)

Now then, what about inside leg measurement? This is something that really annoys me about British clothes shops... They all seem to think the British population is short and 'fat'. No problem to find 42" with short or medium length legs, but the trouble i have to find 42" with long legs. And Long seems to range from 33"to 35", and i prefer 35". Duh![V]

I have trouble with legs too! am 5' 2", which means that usually, regular length is too long, whereas short is - er, too short! I've been known to buy trousers, simply because the legs are just right!

I found a place in Canada - Montreal, I think. Huge clothes place. It sold trousers (pants) for both sexes in just one length - they then offered to measure you and adjust for about $CAD2 - what a bargain!!!! And, they did it in about 20 mins as well....:)

ah! service! something sadly lacking in the UK.
It is very common in China to buy clothes and have them altered there and then and it is included in the price. (Even the big department stores have an alterations dept.) One place I found in Beijing that actually had clothes approaching my size was excellent for letting trousers down, taking them up or shifting buttons etc. while i waited.
