Anyone else just watch it?

Interesting (massive) amount of product placement for VS UCS.

Still, didn't stop one of the so-called "informed" S-list celebs making an incorrect statement:

"I didn't get upgraded JUST to business class, oh no, I got put into First Class - with bar, massages, champagne on-tap, etc etc...."

Given that he could only be describing VS in that statement, does he think that PE was equivalent to Business class? [:0][?]

Yeah - was good[^]

40 and 50 somethings being grumpy about life in general - but in these programmes they are being grumpy about going on holiday.

Very funny - especially Arthur Smith!! Michael Winner was happy to say that he would rather fly in a private jet to Nice so that there was no-one with him but even he balked at paying £300k to fly in a private jet to the Caribbean.

There was some footage of the UCS and bar area and a 346 in the air!!

Anyone else see it?

I seem to recall him saying something along the lines of being "treated like cattle". Since when (and if only?) Michael ?

He is the most entertaining man ... I'd rather someone was forthright too!

Funny programme, I wonder how some of our crew colleagues would deal with so many grumps ...

Many years ago my MIL was a FA for Eastern, she got fired for her reply to a question..

PAX:"when are Eastern going to stop flying these cattle cars"
MIL:"When the cattle stop flying"

Got to love her [y]

Watched some of it, but bloody Michael Winner makes my blood boil and puts nasty thoughts in my head about how to rid him from the public eye forever so for mine and everyboys safety I turned it off:D

That would be Arthur Smith,I always enjoy listing to The Smith Lectures on radio 2 when travelling down to LHR on a Saturday afternoon.

Wonder how Mr Winner used to stand Concorde, being really packed in with other Pax.

Depends on the hotel. The last Hilton I actually left more toiletries than they provided... though in fairness the toiletries draw at home is full and Mrs D would prefer me not to start another one.

But those guest soaps are just soooo useful for the downstairs loo :D

as a rule I don't pinch stuff from hotel bathrooms, but erm i do have a bathroom full of Bellagio and Caesars palace toiletries.

Only the best will do.

I would like to meet Michael Winner actually, it would be facinating
rather like the strange facination you get looking at anomalys of nature.

It's mostly pens and pads of paper at PJH_Towers, though there is still an unused toiletry set from The Clarence in Dublin somewhere in the house. Deemed too nice to be used.

As the programme, I enjoyed last night's episode as tents, caravans, Butlins and primus stoves all featured in my childhood...which is why they don't feature in my adult life.

I heard that Winner refuses to have his baggage put into the hold and into the cabin only and has to be waiting at the bottom of the steps for him when he arrives in the Caribbean. I'm sure he also enjoys having an umbrella held over him when walking down the steps in the rain as they do for all First pax!

I remember indiscriminately tipping all the toiletries into a huge bag at the MO Landmark...sowing kits, emery boards [:0] and all...

I remember the day when I used to take the amenity kits from VS too [:w]

Talking of the whole First Class issue. I have been in so many conversations with people and they refer UC as First. In the end you just give up trying to correct them and eventually end up using it yourselves just for an easy life..

Dean

ooh 900, only 100 to go before my title change (should really comment on more trip reports [8D])

I have found that they also make useful "gifts" for the homeless beggars I run the gauntlet past every morning outside Seoul Station.
If they bother me, I keep a few soaps in my laptop bag and give them one, usually they get thrown back at me as I walk off, but the same beggar doesn't bother me again [}:)]
