Well, I have not flown from LGW as much as LHR but still about 20 flights most a few years ago the last couple, a year ago, maybe it's a current problem.

It is a bit irritating that the UCS is advertised as all VS flights but LGW and MAN get the thi end of the wedge. Its not like the seats are cheaper!

Er, the couple of times I have looked for a cheap UC seat I have found it to be on the LGW flights

to be fair to VS it does say on nearly every page when booking that UCS is not fitted on all aircraft and is not promised due to possible changes for operational reasons and even lists the route's where you are likely to get UCS. The UC service is the same on all route's (apart from a few minor things ex LGW/MAN), so its not really getting the thin end of the wedge as you put it.
