This messed up all services out of T2 for most of the day. It was on the local BBC news tonight and apprently the problem started at around 4am and was eventually resolved but took forever to clear the backlog. Some flights left from T1/3.

A friend of mine who works for BMI at MAN told me last night that over 50% of the flights ex Terminal 2 yesterday were delayed due to this problem, and that was a generous figure they were stating. Not good especially as its the start of the summer hols.

Apparently VS075 took off 5 hours late today, and its not MAN's fault today. Does anyone know why?

This is not turning out to be a good week for VS on this route.

Hey Guys

Yeah I work for SQ at Manchester and our flight was 4hrs delayed, we think alot of missed connections! Ive noticed VS75 is late again today (2nd Aug, planned to go at 12.10pm) will this be due to late arrival of VS76 this morning? As a result of the T2 baggage problems?

Yep if VS076 arrives late then 75 will take off late. Mind you I don't know why VS don't swap planes at MCO so that they can get this route back on time because the LGW flights are supposed to arrive after the MAN flight at MCO.

Are they still suffering from aftershocks as a result of Monday's baggage fiasco?

Spoke to friend who works at MAN today, and whilst he does not know the reason for the late VS flight he said that Monday's problems have not been affecting flights since Monday pm.

So guess it must of been a VS problem.

Even if its 23 minutes late VS075 would've still left on time. I'll be down there on Satuday anyway so will report any late runnings, if any.

Looks like the routes back in business now[8D]

Because of the foiled terrorist plot causing massive delays I think its safe to say that todays MAN-MCO flights will be delayed.

Anyone got any updates on when they will be departing?

G-VROY operated the 75 and left just under 3 hours late at 13.20. The 2nd service has a similar delay - Its currently showing as an approximate 17.00 departure. :)

VS075 is showing as nine and half hours late departing today, I'm really sad as I'm going on Saturday and can't see them catching up with that amount off time by then, even the airport lounges are booked up :(

WHAT[:0]

After saying a while back that it was a bad week for VS out of MAN, I'm now rephrasing this to a bad month[B)]

Mind you I think its the US-bound flights that are still caught up in congestion as a result of last week's foiled bomb plot, especially from MAN.

Triciacarole, don't hold your breath for an on-time departure on Saturday. I seriously doubt that VS will take a plane off a LGW circuit to help MAN recover, even though LGWs 744s are shared with MAN. Although I may be wrong.

Do you know if we have to go airside straight after we have checked in? I hate hanging around there it gets so claustrophobic at the gates. If I can check-in and then go to the Raddisson for breakfast to kill and hour or so would make things a bit better.
