Almost with hesitation, I dare to ask, has this been covered before (I couldn't find anything) or has anyone read the stuff on http://www.aircrewlies.com? I came across this just by chance and was horrified at what I read. It makes me think twice about complaining about anything for fear of retribution[B)]

I know that most of this stuff is quite old, but wonder if these sorts of things still happen on VS, certainly I haven't heard of things like this and hope that it's all untrue, but you just don't know for sure do you?[?]

Oh the virginaircrewlies site? Been discussed before but can't find it searching. If wha he claims is provable he'd presumably have a valid case. But then if it was provable he wouldn't have a web site.

Read it, don't believe it personally, I think the clue was in upgrading the pax sat next to him.

Clearly Sir R is a very very rich man, and that just not fair for some people.

Almost smacks of a BA type thing to me like the old days.

anyway I will say no more but it all looks like a pile of poo to me.

I found this recently too. There are also lots of other stories on there some of which are just ridiculous complaints and others I feel are valid.
This guy has certainly got a B in his bonnett though.

Oh good grief, is this guy still going at it? After 9 years, you think he'd have laid it to rest by now - not good for your mental health to bear such a massive grudge for such a long time, whether the events are true or not [ii]

Like Decker says, it's been on here before, but it's likely the old topics have been archived by now...

Cheers

Ditto Mcuth, have seen it before and not paid a great deal of attention.

The guys story on its own might have made me think, but the whole collection of 'reputation damaging' claims lessens its impact to me. This story for example is littered with inaccuracies over ticketing and service.

Thanks,
Sarah

The phrase "get a life" springs to mind when one reads that site.

I have heard this story before, a few years ago i think.

What i heard from being in the trade at that time is that "his" account is quite different from those of VA.

I hope i dont get into trouble for saying so from the mods[:#]

This story, as Mcuth says, has been circulating for years. If this representeded typical conduct droves of people would be saying so, I suspect.

What remains true as ever is that one's experience of VS is best determined by being in the seat.

Chuck

Im sure I could find some complaints abotu otehr airlines as well.

This website owner clearly needs to get out more, and or be heavily sedated.

Even so, in the current climate, if you are an irritating passenger and catch the crew having a bad day, your life could be made seriously hell.

I think passengers are all considered to be guilty until proven innocent by getting off the flight at the other end without having tried to bomb it.

This guy is still at it?!?!?! He wrote to me back when I ran VSFan.org... he's a real character... who needs to get a life... or a hobby... or a goldfish... or something...

I can see the tale being etched on his tombstone now.

Having read a few of the 'stories' some of the language and composure seem similar between some of them.

Someone really need to go out in the daylight more often and experience Real Life. [:(]

Gotta love this one, too. [ii]

I missed my connection, they rebooked me on the next available flight, and I proclaim that "VAA SUCKS". Admittedly, we don't know the facts, but wow.

Oh, and:
cynically sent me on a wild goose chase to book another flight while putting us on a stand-by.
How does one get sent on a "cynical wild goose chase"? [:?][:w]

Sorry Preiffer, I am confused by that one. Who is Sir Brunson and what is an inapt ape? :)

I notice to post on the site, you have to email your contribution in. Presumably allowing the site owner to sift out all the comments saying how cruddy the site is, what a loon the owner must be, and how incorrect some of the comments are. So no biased sampling there then.

MR. PAUL'S CYNICAL GOOSE CHASE

One day, in the lovely Sussex downs, the great goose hunter, Mr. Paul, pulled on his Hackett hunting tweeds and oiled his rifle.

"I'm feeling particularly contemptuous, derisive, doubtful, ironic, misanthropic, misanthropical, mocking, pessimistic, sarcastic, sardonic, scoffing, scornful, skeptical, sneering, suspicious, unbelieving, and wry today. I think I shall bag a goose!"

Soon he found one -- a perfect example, right out of Dickens' "Christmas Carol." He leveled his rifle and took aim. But alas, upon shooting, the goose took wing and evaded Mr. Paul's shot.

This went on much the rest of the day. Mr. Paul shooting, the goose avoiding the shot. Of course, such a chase did nothing to make Mr. Paul feel any less contemptuous, derisive, doubtful, ironic, misanthropic, misanthropical, mocking, pessimistic, sarcastic, sardonic, scoffing, scornful, skeptical, sneering, suspicious, unbelieving or wry.

At sundown, having failed to bag the goose, Mr. Paul decided to return home and have an M&S Food's ready-made meal instead.

And so he did.

THE END

There, that's a fairly straightforward example of a cynical goose chase. Hope that helped. And happy hunting, Paul!!! [:o)]

Only one *slight* correction GJ: M&S Ready Meal? I think not!

I am very worried by this article and am going to get a refund on my tickets immediately. Wait a minute. I've bought a non-refundable ticket. Guess I'll take the risk and then write a rant that helps no-one when I get back if it all goes pear shaped.

With any customer service operation there is always a few characters who give grief to the staff, it's just the way it goes.

Virgin's cabin crew for 98% of the time are pleasant at all times and do their job to a high standard.

I think the altitude makes some customers go AWOL, when on the ground they'd be as quiet as a mouse.

Trouble is, altitude is the wrong place to; "go crazy. Nuts. Insane. Bonzo. No longer in possession of one's faculties. Three fries short of a happy meal. WAKKO!!!!"
