Bit of a long shot but here goes.
Other half is flying to SFO September 10th VS in Y, on business (I am staying at home [:(!]).
He doesn't have enough miles for an upgrade but I do, and being the generous wife that I am [:X] I thought it might be nice to try and get him a miles upgrade.
I don't think any reward availability is showing for that date at the moment so it may not be possible full stop, but would be useful to know whether this is 'do-able' especially as its just after his birthday and he hasn't flown long haul in Y for ages [:0]

Thanks for any advice

L2H, What fare class is his flight booked in?

It needs to be an upgradeable fare for you to do this so the best thing to do would be to call Flying Club, or get him to, they can check availability for the upgrade and the fare type and advise you further.

Thanks,
Sarah

If Carlsberg made wives, the would probably be like this:D

You can spend you miles on him. If you call FC together they will allow you to upgrade him (he has to be there to allow them to access his booking) and then talk to you to authorise the charging of your account. You can also 'gift' the miles to him now, which may be easier. See here

As Highfly has said though, do check what class of ticket he is on first, and that it is upgradable.

If you also want to gift some miles to me my account number is 00900464888[8D]

Thanks Sailor, nice to be appreciated, would love to send you some miles but what would MrL2H think [:p]

All he knows at the moment is that it's a fully flexible fare, but have advised him to call FC and find out more, and make sure I get my miles once he has travelled as I nominated him for Miles More Friends [y]
They still haven't credited him with his miles when we flew PE to DEL back in March [:w]

Once again, thanks all. I love this site [:X]

If its a fully flexible fare, then he can upgrade it.

As to this transfer of miles to my account, once you have upgraded him I am sure MrL2H will think whatever you tell him to. After all, we men hate to act out of character ;)

You must be a just fiancee; wives would never even think of this!

Hope he proposes!
