I know that this is probably a really stupid question, but how far in advance can I book a ticket with VS?? Is it 1 year?? And if so is there anyway of getting a price before that time, ie now[:I]

I am booking for SFO next Sept and VH can now give me a price but want to price things up seperatly also, have looked on the VS website but couldn't see anything so thought I would ask here.

Any info would me much appreicated

Looking at the website you are not able to book more than 337 days in advance. This means Sept 07 is not now bookable. I don't think you will even be able to book by phone, buy ISTBC.

However, if you book the holiday, there should be no problem with booking the ticket in a month or so. In fact, if you are prepared to gamble a bit, waiting till about a month before departure may pay dividends, although there is clearly a risk. What price are VH quoting for the flight?

Thanks Jeremy!!

VH are quoting and all in package for my hol including flights/hotels/car etc and as it is a new brochure it is only available to book over the phone with them at the mo, so they don't tell me how it is broken down.

I am looking to fly UC and PE so don't want to risk not getting a VH UC allocated seat by leaving it too late.

So even if I ring them they will not be able to help me with a price now then? That means waiting until end Oct/early Nov before I can price it up individually, which might mean the VH UC allocation has gone [:?], mmm what to do.

I'd book the VH one for now. (£120 deposit)

THEN, if the saving once the VS seats are released is greater than the £120 deposit per person, cancel the VH booking - if not, feel safe in the knowledge that you've secured your holiday [y].

Thanks preiffer, this was the conclusion I was coming to myself, from looking at fares on VS and comparing to VH prices in other months, I think it unlikely that booking individually would be cheaper but I'd hate to miss out on a bargain if I didn't investigate the possibilities:D

Here's a dumb question ... if you book via VH in UC do you get the full miles and tier points?

Not a dumb question slinky, but yes - full miles, full TP's as it'll be booked in either Z or D.

Hi Attitude23

Agency's who receive nett fares from VS may already have there fares for 2007 - although you can't book them ATM they may be able to give you a price subject to availability when booking is allowed.

Thanks for the tip Shaun, when you say agency's, do you mean companies that just sell flights?? (or am I just been thick again[:I])
