Photos of aircraft

Going on many aircraft visits this week as part of training and since the security problems earlier this month we are no longer allowed to take cameras to the airport. So, no more photos of group hugs under the tailfin or lazing about in upper-class. [:0]
Upon asking our instructor, she said the only way I'll be allowed to take photos is if I have special dispensomething or other from head office.

I REALLY want group fotos of our group on the aircraft visits. Does any1 work in Head Office who would know what to do to get this permission, or know how to go about getting this special permission to take photos of the a/c?[i]

Any advice would be fab...

There are a number of VS staffers who post / lurk here, but I would doubt they would post sensitive security information on a public site, especially in the current climate.

You may be lucky, and someone could PM you the details you require.

I hope it sorts itself out, as it is difficult to imagine how stopping a group of airline employees taking photographs of each other airside, will help defeat the menace of terrorism. [8D]:D[}:)]

Totally! I was just hoping that among all the aircraft fans or plane photographers who do use the site, some of them may have experience in gaining permission for taking photos before... With regards to the whole security thing, Well i agree and, therefore if anyone HAS got info which would be useful, please PM me!

Try & get your instructor to get in touch with the Engineering department. They have a digital camera airside as it is required for aircraft damage etc. I'm sure they would oblige & e-mail the picture to you.

I often wonder what is the point of "no photos" rules. It seems to be catching on in asia now as well. I was sat at a gate at Incheon Airport today, and watched a couple of girls snapping pictures of the plane through the window being moved on by security.

I managed to just use my camera phone in the end, so...
