Good question, I imagine once booked you will still have to call VS, but somebody might know differently

It doesn't seem you can - I just went to the 'manage your flight' thing and the options are no different to before.

Awwww...[:#]

Thought that would be the case Cat, don't know many airlines websites where you can upgrade online.

Great improvements, rendering in Firefox makes the page a bit messy but they'll sort that! However looking up VS7 to LAX gives me this information:

Flight number: VS 007
Operated by: Virgin Atlantic Airways
Departs: London - London Heathrow Airport (LHR)
Wed October 4 2006 at 11:30
Arrives: Los Angeles - Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Wed October 4 2006 at 14:50
Flight duration: 38 hours, 10 minutes
Meal: Complimentary meal and drinks provided
Aircraft type: Boeing 747-400

Duration 38 hrs 10 mins [:0][:0][:0] - seems a few titbits to iron out!

mmm think that might be a slight glitch in the system, I hope it is anyways, I like VS but don't think I could cope with 38hrs on a plane!

Indeed.

68 - Keep going, it won't be long before you hit 100. BTW, special offer on at the moment - Pete's run out of red cards, so those applying for red get a silver one instead;)

It does seem much better - but it is a shame that the range of options is still limited. i.e. it would be useful to have a
"semi-flexible" option which would return the lowest available upgradeable fare code for a given ticket class.

Hi Neil, I'm sure you can on ba.com. When we flew to Rhodes in June the option to upgrade to Club was available under Manage My Flights, I clicked through to see how much they'd charge but opted against it!

This will probably explain why I could only view the root directory earlier :)

They still haven't updated the "search for flights +/- 3 days eaither side of your dates" bit for LHR-HKG-SYD........still doesn't give the option of a stopover. Sure it wouldn't be any hardship though to select the exact date after looking at the pricing grid.

Wonder if the LGW-LAS-LGW mileage has been sorted yet or still shows 1 way only?

I agree - for PE it seems to show either a W or a K class, so trying to find an S class fare seems impossible.

Someone plese tell me I'm wrong.

For UC I've been able to bring up a J, D or Z though.

I really don't like the fact that 'prices' are quoted ex taxes. I much prefer to see the full price for the proposed itinerary, not least given how much damn tax there is these days on a ticket. it really changes your impression of the price, once you add in ~$250...

Hey Bostonbrit,

Not sure which page you are referring to actually, as on the 'Price' and 'Flight' page, the taxes are shown included. On the 'Flight' page there is a breakdown of the costs, although the taxes themselves are not broken down. At least this is the case on the examples I have looked at.

The price matrix is a lot like DL's- I like it. Well done VS.

But honestly- would it be that hard for them to fix their codeshare bookings? They've setup the codeshare agreements for CO out of EWR, but everytime I pick Syracuse to London it tells me there is no flights. Odly enough CO shows the flights on their website, and I can go into the res computer at work and it's there... why can't VS fix their website so I can book through it!!!!

Jilly,

I got a quote for PE to SYD in K and S, no problem. Maybe there was no availability on the flight you looked at.

Hmm. IE7 RC1 seems to render better than Beta 3 (as I was using this morning).

So...

I stand corrected- it appears that VS have now removed all of the CO cities from online bookings.

When you do a search for NYC, it offers CO codeshares as well as VS metal (just done it). [:?]

Can't find the mileage upgrades though - just ones for cash [?]
