It's not that un-common to see VS LHR metal at LGW. VS A/C availability is pretty tight at LGW at the moment.

A LHR A343 was op'ing LGW flights earlier this week.

We have seats booked on a LGW/Man 744 - What would happen if this was changed for our flight in Nov (Upper)

You'd have a choice of upper or lower deck to sit, and a bigger bar :)

It is highly unlikely for this to change and as it would be for an operational reason you wouldn't know until the day.

As Vegas has said, it would probably be better for you, you would have the bigger downstairs UC cabin/bar etc and of course the V-PORT IFE system, which is fab, so if you do change then I guess it would be all good[y]

You would probably have a number of happy PE passengers around you that would have been op-uped due to the lower W capacity also.... [y]

So would they keep all the real J in the A zone and the PE pax still get the Y food as otherwise a lot more J food would need to be loaded? I can't remember what the did when the LHR was over the other year when the suites were being fitted.

Does anyone know how long she will be over here?

G-VSEA is over at LGW this week aswell. Anyone know why the LGW/MAN fleet is short at the min??

Suppose the new LGW hanger could be doing good trade, VS may have delayed none urgent maintenance until it opened???

I wonder if that's why it won't let me do Online Checkin for tomorrows flight to MCO??

The wife and I flew to the caribean on a LHR plane while the LGW suites were being done - we got an opup to UCS from PE, as did a couple of others, but that was all. UC was pretty empty, and PE was full. We didn't get the opup on the way back, but some others did... PE was full, and UC pretty empty again.

Could it be due to maintenance? Also LGW has had the new MBJ route start not too long ago, maybe that hasn't helped, but then again G-VXLG has moved over to LGW config recently too, so not 100% sure.

At LGW on the 26th of August, when I was flying to ANU, G-VROC AND G-VFIZ were both there. I didn't go on either but there were only 4 aircraft around 2 of which were LHR metal.

There will be more than a few happy PE pax on LGW routes over the next few days then. I think I could cope with a UC seat with the Y food offering. Better still, you get v:port thrown into the deal too.

I have to say, I don't think I'd like to be cabin crew on a flight where LHR metal was used instead of a LGW aircraft. I can imagine there would be complaints galoe from pax who had not got their pre-selected seats. Then, you would have the PE pax who got the few W seats complaining that others had been given a J seat etc...

I should have made clear that we got the full UCS service on the opup. (but VS staff seemed to have priority on the opup...!) we got the opup on the online checkin the night before, so it was all planned in advance.

I think I read V-Ben say that VS had only committed to upgrading the A346's as of yet. All 744's and 343's have to wait until the roll out of the 346's are complete. :D

LGW has to wait again!!!! [B)][:p]

RE above post...Just did a search on the interent and used "which aircraft will I be on" and it seems that G-VROC is v:port. Is this a new thing, as I could have sworn I had G-VROC coming back form LA in April with arcadia[?]
