Now im going to be using Manchester airport for the first time at the end of the month. so whats the best way to check-in. I have pre-allocated our seats on the virgin website although i realise these are not fixed in stone. Do i use OLCI the day before and risk queues at the baggage drop or do i risk the PE check-in and possibly only possibly loose our selected seats?[:?][:w]

Why don't you use OLCI and then still use the PE check in at the airport to drop your bags off?? OLCI will almost certainly mean you get the seats you want and 9 times out of 10 the PE queue is the shortest and as long as your flying PE you can still use this. Best of both worlds:D

Yep you can use any check-in, Econ/Bag Drop or PE (but not UC!!)

If you've pre-allocated seats yourself then you should, in theory, get them exactly as you booked them. If in doubt follow Attitude23's advice and use both. Don't use the new 'express Check-In' in T2 which VS are one of few airlines so far who have signed up to use.

Good luck[y]

Hi - on the OLCI topic - I wondered if anyone could help me with a problem I am having. I have my tickets and want to go online to update my booking but just can't get in at all - which makes me think I am going to be unable to do OLCI which I REALLY want to do. Why can't I get in? I have been putting in the PNR Code which the site tells you to - but with no luck I even put in our TA Ref but again no joy!! We are a family of 2 ad & 3 ch. do you think we will be able to do OLCI when the time comes??

I tink you need the VS Booking number rather than the one from the travel agent (TA?).

If your ticket number (in the bottom middle of the ticket, normally) starts 932 & is followed by 10 more numbers, then try entering this in the "E-Ticket number" field on the OLCI screen. This number should be recognised.

Even if you have paper tickets & the number still starts 932 [with 10 more numbers afterwards] then give this a go. I have managed to OLCI on paper tickets booked via e-Bookers in the past.

Just to add to what Kracken was saying, here is a little feature of the site that explains all the info and what it means on the paper ticket (if it is one of those you have) and might help you visualise what Kracken was saying about the number starting 932.
