How long to go through security at LGW?

Hi all,

I have an early (6am) non VS flight (EZY) out of LGW on Monday (11th Sep) morning and was wondering how much time to allow to get through South Terminal security.

I have a already checked in online and printed a boarding pass just need to get to the gate on time.

Since the school term started earlier this week it has been noticeably quieter at LGW, the security queue in South Terminal around an hour ago was around 100 people - certainly not snaking around the place as has been the case in recent weeks. I don't know how busy it would have been earlier - my guess is much busier as that's when a load of EZY's and charters depart. Play it safe and get there nice & early

I've come through this morning. after checkin probably took about 20 mins from start to finish. I didn't think it was too bad

I'll aim to be at Security an 1:30 before take off as BAA has just recommended and have breakfast after security.

Will have an early night the night before!

What time did you go through ?

I also think about the 5th anniversary of 9/11 being a factor.

Update.

Joined very long queue outside the entrance to departures/security at 04:40, cleared security at 5:00.

Kewl. I'm of this way on Sunday. Fingers crossed it goes quickly and smoothly!
