Another good reason to justify staying at the Burj[:p]

Bit late for Sarah, James and a few others that have stayed this year though.....

DXB loads are looking very good for the next few months also, VS must be chuffed with how it's developed since March..... :D

Typically, James and I discovered this after we got back from DXB. Probably for the best though ... wouldn't want to ruin a perfectly god trip, and friendship, by fighting over those miles :) And it was a lot of miles, wasn't it James?

Thanks,
Sarah

Indeed Sarah, it would have been quite a lot of miles :)

Oh well, there's always next time [:w]

Fantastic, we've just booked 6 nights at Dar Al Masyaf @ Madinat Jumeirah in April :) That coupled with 6 miles per £ for the VS flight on AMEX is a mega miles earning opportunity ;)

Hmm. Have I missed something? How are you getting 6 miles per £ for the flight? Assuming you have the Amex black, like I do, I thought that only gave 4? Hopefully you are going to tell me I'm mistaken!

If you "upgraded" from a previous VS mastercard, there's an introductory offer for extra miles per £ spent. I'm guessing that's what vegascrazy's refering to. [:w]

For those that have travelled to Dubaii, can anyone tell me if its possible to stay at this hotel just for a few days and then carry on to another location, not sure I would want my whole vacation to be there but would love to try it prehaps on the way to somewhere else with VA.

EGG - Do you mean another location as in another country, or another hotel?

I stayed for one night at the Burj with James and then transferred to another hotel, not a problem at all - and the Burj even supplied the chauffeur to take me to the other hotel.

If you are referring to location, other UAE countries, Asia and the Maldives are only a short hop away from DXB. Emirates has a huge network so you can pretty much head off anywhere from there. I am toying with a DXB/MLE trip myself ....

Thanks,
Sarah

Mmm. I had the original Mastercard (just cancelled) and last year's Amex (cancelled just before I applied for new black amex). Sounds like I took the wrong route! Just my luck... [ii]

Direct flight to SYD from DXB with Emirates, so yes. Lots of other options too, BKK, HKG, etc ... Also SIN with SQ etc ...

Yep I was referring to the 6 miles for every £1 you spend at Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays offer with the new MBNA AMEX black card - valid until 31/7/07. Just waiting to pay for next year's Great Escapade on it (purchased direct from VA) to earn a whopping 45,000 miles in one go :)

Cheers,

James
