Hello all,

First post, so hopefully not a dumb question!!

I have just booked a package holiday via Virgin to Florida for my partner and I next April (outbound VS015 27/4/07 & VS016 11/5). Have booked economy seats on the outbound flight, and Premium Economy on the return leg.

Then I remembered that I have some Flying Club miles (just over 15k) from a previous trip, and I wondered if I had enough to upgrade the outbound flights to PE. I checked the website which only gave me upgrades for round trips, not one-way. I also tried calling the helpline but that just rang and rang and rang......

Would anyone know if I have enough miles or would I need spend them all and part with a bit more cash to get the desired PE outbound flights please?

Many thanks

V-Gator

PS - have noticed that several peeps have timers on their posts presumably to their next flights. Could someone let me know how to do this please. Thanks!

It'll be 10,000 miles for a one-way Economy to PE upgrade, BUT it'll entirely depend on what class your Economy ticket is booked in (and I doubt it's an upgradable fare, to be honest - sorry).

Who did you book it through?

Countdown clocks are one of the many paid member benefits - more info can be found in the store. BUT - well done for registering, and generating our 15,000th topic! [y]

Oooh - and welcome :D

Thanks for your reply, what a stroke of luck getting the 15000th topic!

I booked via Virgin Holidays on their website, I'll keep trying to ring them to see if I get any joy.

Thanks for the info on the clocks. I shall look in to.

Ah, if it's Virgin Holidays, there's a bit of a problem.

The ticket you have will most likely be in V or N class - neither of which can be upgraded with miles. More info is available here.

HOWEVER, you could call them and ask how much (cash) it'd cost to upgrade to PE - it may not be as much as you think. Otherwise, it'll involve paying to "upgrade" the fare class to a Y/B or L ticket (read: £££) and THEN use your miles. You may well be better off just paying VH to upgrade in the first place... [:?]

It is £260pp per sector for an upgrade to PE with VH, so to just upgrade your outbound with cash it would be another £520.
