Can anyone help me out here? I have just been on the phone to Virgin's silver membership line to confirm a couple of other things and mentioned that I was flying to Dubai at the weekend on a class N ticket to get the 4 tier points I need to make it to gold member (40pts).
She was adamant that I would only be earning 1 tier point each way so would still be 2 points short of my goal. I could upgrade the ticket though to a higher class to get the additional tier points.

Now on the Virgin website I'm sure the earnings calculator says I will earn the 4 tier points and that it's only US destinations that attract the lesser amount.

Am I being stupid or was she wrong? Has anyone else flown to Dubai on an N-class ticket and received 4 tier points (return) or did you just get the two?

Thanks
Darren.

Darren

It's only on US and Caribbean flights where N fares earn 1 TP each way, all other routes are the standard earnings, from the VS web site:

CABIN TIER POINTS
Economy 2*
Premium Economy 3
Upper Class 5

*N class US and Caribbean routes will earn 1 tier point per sector.

I earned full TP's (2 per flight sector) and full 100% miles on my N fare to HKG/SYD earlier this year.

Thanks for the quick reply

Looks like she was mistaken then and I should be OK. Given I'm only flying to Dubai for the four tier points (and a long weekend exploring a place I've never been to before), I would be mightily annoyed to then fall two points short!

Thanks,
