Upper class check-in question

We are flying out of LHR to SF on Tuesday. I have been informed that LHR does not have twilight check-in. I have talked to someone at VS and asked what the chance of checking in before the 3 hour official time, as we would like to spend as long as we can in the clubhouse, he said that they might be able to, but can't guarantee it. Anyone here have any experience of checking early. Thanks

Check-in opens at 6am every morning, and AFAIK (but ISTBC) you are able to check in for any flight as soon as it opens, so you should have no problems with what you want to do. Sure I have read on here about checking In for afternoon flights early on so they could get rid of their bags etc.

Been there. Done that! Actually when flying to SF. I think we checking in around 9:00am, or was it a bit earlier? Anyway we had breakfast, drinks, a treatment, a sit in the tub, a shower and lunch before we flew off. )

Just to add further personal experience to the replies so far, I am, to the dismay of my family, ultra cautious about getting to the airport "on time" which almost inevitably means "well ahead of when we actually need to be there". This is usually more than 3 hours before the flight and I've never had a problem checking in.

When I do LHR-SFO I'm always there at 6am to checkin. Tragic I know.

They have stuff to use if you don't have your own and a spinner (like they have in gymns to dry them).I wore my own last time (hatred of wearing something intimate that's already been worn by somebody else)and it was dry enough to put in my carry on - pool is a bit grandiose but it's a nice hot tub/jacuzzi and early in the day nice and peaceful.

I think it would be great to get there early and start your day with a nice dip in the jacuzzi - you can add a picture on v-flyer if you like;) In my experience, checking-in earlier has been fine.

thanks everyone. Actually , now that I think about it, you can check -in online 24 hours before, so as long as the check-in desks are open, there is nothing to stop us.
