OK, I am getting really excited about our first outing to the LHR clubhouse. So, tell me what your itinerary is when you get there, and how long you usually stay. Also, what is the latest we can leave the clubhouse to get on the plane, its the 11am SFO VS19

We usually have a drink and something to eat followed by a (pre-booked) treatment. If there's time Aer John will go into the jacuzzi and have a shower.

Our lenght of stay is determined by our connecting flight from Ireland. It can be as long as 5 hours or as short as about an hour

The flight will be announced in the Clubhouse roughly 50 minutes before departure and there will also be a final call

I have something small to eat, usually a light snack or just the cookies (:D) and a drink. I also like to go up on the roof and watch the action from there, weather permitting of course;) If you've got time, try out the jacuzzi.

It depends how fast you walk as to how long you need. Going from the furthest gates VS usually use (eg.40) the recommended time to leave is around 20 mins, although it normally takes us only 5mins. HOwever, I wouldn't cut it that fine.

As for my itinerary all I can say is 'Drink!'

After the mad scramble through check in and security, to be honest it is the main thing on my mind. Once that is out of the way I book a treatment (If not pre-booked) and have a leisurely bite to eat. Then some down time, or maybe do a few emails. Finally a shower, and boarding. All in all about 2 hours I guess, maybe a bit less.

That's my plan I think, and I'm about to set off there, so hope they have stocked up! [8D]

Food, drink and treatment (and perhaps a foray into the jacuzzi) -CH is open from 7am so you'll have a bit of time to enjoy it.

Usually fly from LHR on the 19 meself. Generally arrive at the CH at 0700hrs, settle in with a glass of champers, order brekkie, drink some more, have a treatment ~0800/0830hrs, more drink & another brekkie, more drink.... rinse & repeat as necessary before boarding ;)

Cheers

Im a regular on VS19 too. I used to (oh no Im turning into a Used To... see my TR's for an explanation) wait for Concorde to take off in the upstairs part of the old clubhouse and use that to time walking to the plane.

Its hard to do that now so heres my LHR Itinerary. All steps optional and optionally with a glass of bubbly at every stage :-)

Haircut. Always. Pre booking seems essential these days.
Freshen up.
Shoe Clean.
Breakfast, hold the brown sauce.
Read the paper
Browse the web.
Grab a stack of papers for the plane (not required if you are in Upper)
Hop upstairs and step outside to see the bustle of the airport. I never tire of it although upstairs and outside sucks compared to the old conservatory the rest of the Clubhouse it better than the old one now its fully open.
Downstairs for a last drink before boarding.
Wait for them to call the flight - unless you like to queue.

Most of my flights are morning or early afternoon flights so get there for 8ish.
Have a drink with breakfast
Surf the web
Dip in the Jacuzzi ,which I always leave too late before my..
Treatment (usually a rhinestone cowboy)
More drinks, read papers
Pop up to the roof
Walk to the other end of the Terminal to get my flight.

Don't forget to have the mixologist mix you something nice - I normally try a drink I haven't had before
