Hi all,

We've taken advantage of VH's free Disney nights offer for next October and have booked PE out & back. However if I've worked this out correctly upgrading to UC would only be another £800 odd for the 3 of us.

Two questions:

Is this a good deal compared with say a z class fare?

Obviously we would get access to the Gatwick Clubhouse but we're travelling with relatives and wanted to know if we can take guests in.

Thanks

Sounds a good deal to me. I assume you mean £800 each to upgrade both ways.

If you are travelling in UC each passenger can take a guest into the Clubhouse.

Hi Nick,

No, sorry I wasn't very clear, it is £800 for all 3 of us one way. We're happy to come back PE.

Thanks

Well, the extra £800 would get up to six of you in the CH, and get three of you very comfy seats. I think it is a good deal compared to buying 3 Z fares one way, but I am not the expert on UC fares or VH. [:I][:I]

As far asI know VH price for UCS is a very good one, it is normally about £1190 return for their upgrade from EC. A VA fare for a Z usualy comes out around £1300 ish.

If your going from Manchester you won't get the gucci clubhouse though.

You will earn miles and tier points on the fare which shouln't be sniffed at

If VH are quoting £800 for all 3 of you then that is a very good deal, VH upgrades to MCO are usually £560pp per sector, with 12&under at 67% (or somthing like that) of the rate.

I would snap there hand off, at the moment you cannot price up going direct with VS as flights are released yet but a Z Class fare is going to be well over £1k each so its very good value for money.

£560 is the fee for upgrading direct from EC to UC. £800 quoted by the OP is for 3 people to upgrade from PE-UC. They will have already paid for PE seats.

It still looks like a very good deal from my angle. Given the limited number of seats on the LGW/MAN fleet I would snap heir hands off while the allocation is still available.:)

Ah yes, I missed that bit[:#] thanks for pointing it out Rob, was really amazed how cheap it was. £266 per person per sector on top of the £450+ for the initial PE upgrade doesn't now look so good, compared to the potentional cost of a K and a Z fare direct with VS. That makes it over 1k just for the upgrade (round trip!)plus the initial cost of the flight built into the holiday, not such good value now.

Still might be a bit of a saving with the FC 10% discount which is always handy.
