On new planes such as G-VYOU, G-VFIZ, G-VRED, where is the controls located? Is it in the armrest or front?

The new Y and W seats will have the controls in the seat infront, but the current seats have it in the armrest. Not sure which seats the a/c you have mentioned currently have however.

The easy way is to check in the aircraft database. Config 1 346's are in the armrest and config 2 346's are in the back of the seat in front as Neil says. :D

I am pretty sure that the database is accurate currently, the config 2's have been to Zurich and been retro-fitted with the new seating.

Not quite Rob - the config 2 a/c do not all have the new W seats, so in these one the controls will be in the armrest.

I thought they did, but hey thanks for putting that right Neil... Maybe we need to show on the aircraft database which aircraft have which seats regardless of which configeration they are using somehow??? :D

Well, to add my knowledge on the subject, I've recently flown on G-VOGE and G-VFIZ.

Both were config 2, but OGE still had the old PE & Y seats, with the controls in the armrest, while FIZ had the new seats with the controls in the back of the seat.

The latter is much preferable, as it avoids accidentally changing channels, and also gives you a bit more room.

FIZ also had the new Y colour scheme, which is certainly better without the yellow seats from the old scheme.
