is it just me or is UC rapidly loosing its "luxury "feel

first the menu --there is not one item i would eat

then the amenity kit -the new scrouge kit is just a pathetic excuse

i am about to take my 2nd ever UC flight , paid for by my own savings not subsidided by my company , and we paid the exta --quite a lot as there are 4 of us in the family -to get the holiday of to a mega start as a treat to our selves .
and i really feel that by paying for UC i would be getting just that a touch of luxury

from the very start of my booking it got off on the wrong foot with the booking clerk making one ticket out in entirly the wrong name and getting it put right took me over 10 phone calls taking over 6 hours of my time

i must add here that special assistance have been very helpfull in preparing for our flight and on our previous experience the in flight crew were very good too but it is the little extras that make it all so worth while

i think if it is as bad as it sounds we may well be looking for a different carrier for our next trip -and ofcourse the corresponding nessesary change of miles earning credit card ---any one offer a good alternative ?

Steve, if I recall correctly, last year you were planning a trip to MCO with your family which included a daughter with a disablilty. Am I correct? At that time we were bleating about the bangers and irridatiated mash and the Oswald Boateng amenity kits like spoilt children who were given ordinary choc ices instead of a Magnum. [V] I remember cautioning about it at the time as many people were beginning to question the wisdom of booking UC and even VS.

Since then I have made several trips in UC. I have been given the Scrooge Pack; I have had a less than satisfactory meals but at the end of the day I have arrived at my destination thinking that I have had a great flight. Why? Because at the end of the day the crew has been what made the flight. If you look at the trip reports there are a lot more that are positive rather than negative. Bear that in mind and you too should have a good flight.

And always remember the power of V-Flyer. It's better than any market research!

thanks for those comments
they make me feel betterabout the up coming trip ,it is always at the back of my mind that the whole UC experience had been down graded but it sounds like the on board experience is well worth the extra .
yes honey lamb you have a great memory , but it was acctually 2 years ago (so thereby even better memory) , my daughter is disabled and yes we got great treatment on board which is why this time we had no hesitation in booking with VS . i guess my negative thoughts are mainly because of being messed about over the ticketing problem , and then seeing the menu(i have a garlic allergy so a mediterainian menu is about the worst theme they could have for me ).

thanks aagain to everyone here for pointing my mind to the real reason we fly VS

and the best thing to look forward to on this flight -not having to travel with a 18 month old on my knee all the way , that 18 month old is now 3 years old and has his own seat, although the creadit card is not so happy about that lol
