MCO fare sale extends into March too (VS027/028, 08 Jan - 15 Mar 2007) Tempting for some?
Thanks,
Sarah

Oh its excellent - especially pre-xmas, can understand it in Jan when NYC isn't the most appealing of places, but in December for some xmas shopping, it really is an excellent offer, if we hadn't booked for next June it would of been seriously tempting.
Neil:)
All fares must be booked by 11pm Sunday 22nd OctoberBuggeration! [:0]
I just booked for three adults to Orlando in January two days ago,
and now the total price has dropped by over £300...
As a silver FC member, is there anything I can do to claw
any of this back, or has my bad timing left me £315 out of
pocket just because I booked on a Monday instead of a Wednesday?
Not happy,

Unlikely you'd be able to even if you were a Gold FC member.

Very probably - the only chance you'd have of clawing anything back is if your original tickets are refundable and/or have minimal cancellation fees...and of course, there's still availability on the sale fares for your flights.
Afraid it's just the luck of the draw - you were unfortunate enough to book just before a sale came up - unlike high street shops, VS don't announce them in advance - sorry.
Cheers
Michael

Thanks anyway - I'm trying (hard!) to convince myself that it's
not all bad as the extra £315 spent will earn 6x (or is is 8x?)
airmiles on my new Black Amex...

Just for sympathy's sake, my better half booked LHR-JFK on Tuesday 17th to catch the fare sale ending that day, not knowing that there would be another, better one starting on Wednesday 18th. She was mightily aggrieved, as well I can imagine you are, and not even the concept that she got a pretty decent (but less decent than it could have been) fare would placate her. She may have not taken the right deal, but it was the right deal for her, as they say.
The obvious question that follows is "if Virgin are prepared to run two fare sales in a row, might they run three fare sales in a row" - who knows? I do hope it doesn't get to FR-like extremes of being all fare sale all the time, as much as I feel I ought to be grateful for any fare sale that might ever exist. Cheap prices are appreciated, but confidence that I'm getting the cheapest possible deal even more so. [:?]
Ah well. If she finally gets a plane with V:Port she'll be happy.

I'm fuming, booked for MCO on 14th March and now find flights are £147pp cheaper,
and thats x 5.

Booked for JFK in PE in March (thanks HighFlyer for letting me know about these silly prices!). Got it for £563 inc Tax. That is by far the cheapest fare I have ever seen for PE on that route. I was going around then anyway but was planning to book on the spur. These prices changed my mind.
Unfortunately they're back to normal when I need to go in May..
