morning all
not quite a trippie but lots of comments on vs service

used twilight check in on tuesday
there were 3 desks open and 3 sets of pax being checked in at about 5 pm
it took about 3 minutes to get to being attended to
was worried how they wouold react to UC pax as had seen reports of grumpy staff
no worries at all the young lady was polite and very helpful

stayed at the hilton room good , 4th floor, food disgusting -room service meals provided us all with food poisioning so bad for my 3 year old that they called the paramedics at 2 am !
but we are all ok now but made the night very uncomfortable

gatwick club house was good
had the breakfast brioche and tbh it was nothing short of a full english with just a piece of pastry added
drinks service slow but polite when it arrived

flew on jersy girl on the vso27
cabin crew fantastic one of our 4 booked seats was out of comision broke on the inbound -not sure if someone had been attempting mile high in 6a !!!
even though it was a full cabin some one offered to downgrade and a few of us juggled seats so the family all managed to sit together

the FSM spent so long appologising for such a little difficulty
bad news it is now scroge packs on mco routes
more bad news it is still the mediterainian menu but i was so pleasantly surprised by the monkfish and salmon very nice .
very attentive flight crew dont think the glasses of anyone were ever allowed to remain empty for more that a few minutes ,during the whole flight i never had to ask for a drnk once it was always offered when the glass was empty

FSM took a great deal of time with every pax asking if there was any way the service could be improved , only mentioned the scroge pack , he did say it was being updated soon.
but he was a real gem making every feel they were the only person on board -well done paul . i can feel a letter cdoming on when we arrive home i think service like this needs comenting on
security lines in gatwick were horendous but we had special assistance through the airport due to walking dificulties and we were ussered straight past all the lines it took less than 45 minutes from gatwick hilton to club house

in orlando it took about 1 1/2 hours from aircraft to car hire pick up
and we were just about last off the plane waiting for the assistance , possibly the only complaint of the whole trip the pre booked wheel chair assistance was slow to appear and when it did one guy pushed mine AND my daugters at the same time , causing some quite comicle moments

so we were pleased at that time to get through all the checks and pick up the 7 cases which even though loaded the second time all together 3 arrived really fast 4 took a fair bit longer but hey gave us time to relax lol

all in all

great flight , great crew fantastic experience

great advert for VS

thats it for today

Brilliant Candyman!

At the Hilton Gatwick were you in an exec room or family room?

Glad the UC experience was a hit for you!

Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

Steve

Glad to hear that the dread you expressed on another thread was unfounded (and that the food poisoning was resolved quickly - that must have caused some nail biting moments).

Let the letter flow - always worth reinforcing that service matters!

Paul

p.s. [^] for the person who offered to downgrade, and to the rest of the UCS shufflers, too.

What food bit you[:$],we had some dodgy fish and chips a few years ago, sent it back without getting poisoned. The replacement roomy and all food in subsequent stays has been good.Hope it didn't spoil the trip too much.

did not spoil it long term we are here for 4 weeks and any problems are only temporary set backs lol
it is a chill break all helped by the great service to start it off

we stayed in a family room that was very large and comfy and great value at £124 for the night for all 4 of us

I was unlucky enough to be the very next person to have chosen that seat 6a, your flight became the vs076 to MAN, the flight was full in UCS, I noticed two cable ties attached to the seat belt and asked why it was there, the cabin crew told me they knew nothing about it and an hour later with me perched on the ottoman wondering what was going on they told me they had no idea it was broken and that the seat was too dangerous for me to use. They found me space in PE eventually.

I did find it a big deal to find out my seat had been condemned only after I had been handed my pj's and welcome drink, and not told sooner.

I was extremely poliite and accepted the situation but was very dissapointed, I really do hope the crew didn't know about it all along.

They said customer services was going to contact me today with a compensation offer, I personaly don't expect they will.

sorry to hear that easygoing they certainly knew it on my flight but the crew were staying over in florida after our flight so new crew but i was told that the ground staff in lgw were aware of the problem and were working on it
#hope that may help when the offer of compensation comes
it would be interesting to know what they offer you
at least a free flight i hope
