Oh, I am quite sure some alcohol consumption will be involved at some stage in the proceedings[:w]

A social report will definately be needed on this night out:D

There are some decent hotels with good deals on Lastminute.com for that night around Crawley......

As for what to expect, the tickets for drink and food make it sound a little like the Flying Club summer parties??

Still, i am sure there will be plenty to see and do etc - it will also give us something to talk about with the next flight crew we see around the bar on-board!

If anyone likes the look of a local hotel, post it up here and perhaps we can designate it the V-flyer lodging which might make sharing taxis etc easier?

Good idea! We might stay over, so good to get some options aired.

Im liking the Copthorne, or the Renaissance myself in Crawley, though there will be shuttle buses going to LHR and LGW after the event. Plenty of choice there.

Thanks,
Sarah

So the party ends at 1am. You can buy tickets for the bus at 1am to get you to Heathrow, Gatwick or Brighton.

Why on earth would I want to go to Heathrow, Gatwick or Brighton at 1am? Why not central London? The trains don't run from Gatwick (which is only a few mins away) until 3am-4am... Can I fly to central London from Gatwick at 1am? No. Huh? I just don't get it.

James

Maybe because a lot of Virgin staff live in/near these places[:w]

Just got back to find a pair of tickets in my inbox as well!

Should be some interesting logistics as I'm flying Virgin to Vegas Sun morning and already booked into the Gatwick Hilton for Sat night. Maybe a night in Brighton maybe the best option can't see much to so around Gatwick all day Saturday..... maybe I can take up plane spotting.

Richard and I will be there, just trying to work out the logistics of getting down there on a Friday night. I hadn't realised quite how close to Christmas we are. Hope to meet some new V-Flyers at the do!

The party is at 'The Base' at Manor Royal in Crawley. Dress code stated is 'smart casual', so not quite tuxedo but smart nonetheless. Starts at 7pm going on till 1am. I think its a reasonably casual party.

Thanks,
Sarah

GOOD NEWS - A friend of mine has just received an invite to the party. FANTASTIC I thought as she had put me down to join her.

BAD NEWS - She is ill & unable to go, how cheesed off are we. What a friend to have , as much use as a chocolate teapot!!!

I shall read all your reports with great interest, have a fab time you guys & gals attending. x

I'm feeling a bit gutted! Until we moved abroad this year, I only use to live 10 miles away from Crawley, shopped there, worked there etc!

Thought it would be unfair to apply for tickets, knowing I couldn't go[}:)]

So, hoping all you V-Flyers have a great time at the VA Christmas party[y] and don't forget to take some pics:D
