Hi all,

Was checking the seating arrangements for me and the other half for our upcoming trip to LAX on VS7 at the end of the month. We're currently in seats 3/4K, with the seatmap on the VA website showing a single-deck layout. Thing is, isn't VS7 a 744 route? So, does Virgin have a single "vanilla" seatmap they use for all bookings? I ask since I'd like to ensure we're on the main desk on the way out - easier to get to the bar rather than being in the bubble on a 744 flight!

The VS7/8 changes to an A346 during the winter months so if you want to be near the bar move a lot further back!!!!

You can see from this page that the VS7 changed to an A346 at the end of Oct.

VS swap A/C with routes like the VS5 to MIA for example, as it gets a B744 quite a lot over the winter months but is an A346 during the summer. It's all based on pax loads and seasons.

Hi Darryl,

The flight is scheduled to be operated by an A346 thats why you can only see a single deck layout. VS use a 744 for the summer season when they require the extra capacity - The website would show the up and downstairs options if they were available....:D

Ah, that explains it, thanks! I did think it a bit odd - should have realised there was an obvious explanation!
