Hi all

I discovered this web site a year or so ago and found it very useful when making travel plans etc as it is a very good source. I have a suggestion though.

Many users seem to want to check out the menu's in different cabins, as these seem to change in 3 monthly cycles and there are lots of members who fly frequently or who are staff. Would it be possible to have a forum folder titled "Menu's/Food" then sub divide by route/direction/travel class and these could be updated by travellers. This would put all the info in one place and save having to search through many Trip Reports (entertaining though they are !!).

Just a suggestion, open to be shot down !!!

Thanks

I agree, I love reading through the TR's they are a lot of fun, but to have the meals on what flight etc all in one place is a great idea! Then everyone knows where to go and find what is going to be on their next flight! :)

Would also have to be subdivided by routes, most share the same few menu's but there are regional variations .. mmm ... bento box!

I'm also in favour of it!

Thanks,
Sarah

This would be a good idea, as "what food will I get?" is up there with "what plane will I be on?"
Good suggestion cpr99[y]

Sarah, I'm looking forward to my Bento box [:p]

Gets a thumbs up from me too...

With the mention of Bento boxes, etc. Are these an Upper Class thing or do Y pax get them as well? If not, what meal services are usually provided to from NRT in Y?

Thanks,

Scott

Scott

The Bento boxes are only served in Upper Class, no idea what is served in Y or W on the NRT route sorry.

James, there is a video on YouTube here of a flight to Tokyo in Y and they've got Bento Boxes. They look much better than the usual Y product for that matter..

Whether they serve them now I don't know, but think this was filmed this summer.

Sorry going off topic now... [:I]

You might be right Dean, but I always thought you just got them in J.

I know what I'm having on my NRT flights though!!!

I had the bento box a couple of years ago in UC it's a massive portion, the box underneath contained a whole lot more bits and bobs, the rice was rapped in the leaf, and miso soup in the bowl,I thought I had a picture of the opened box but it appears to have gone walkies. On BA First last month they didn't have a bento offering, but it was the best food we have ever had out of LHR on BA,some of the plates were more upmarket than on other F routes like the starter plate and the Horderves stone slab.

Looks like BA got a deal on prawns LOL

The king prawn and crab on the square plate were from the return flight, it was lobster on the way out same plate but I had eaten it before I thought about snapping it:D
