Nope. I find it such a chore. It's great living in countries that don't celebrate it. In China it is a normal working day, though the shops and bars are catching on that it is a good way to make more money... So you get some of the party atmosphere without all the rest of the baggage that goes with it.
Of course, I don't mind getting presents[}:)] ... But to save all the trouble of choosing "surprises" most of my family agree to buy their own presents for themselves.

No, i hate Christmas too. I don't actually celebrate it, i don't have a tree or decorations up and to me it is really just another Hallmark holiday. I begrudgingly send cards to work colleagues, I'll send ones to my close family and I always ask people not to buy me presents. Richard and I don't buy each other gifts and we are happy with that.
Personally, i think if you are Christian or have children then Christmas can be a wonderful time of year. I don't, so i am a miserable bugger over the whole thing

Actually I quite like Xmas, not the cards and present side of it so much, but now that I have young neices and nephews it has restored my faith and joy in Xmas, so magical to see their faces on Xmas morning.
For me the best part of it is the time off and the fact that the whole family gets together and we can spend some quality time seeing each other. During the year everybody is so busy and its so difficult to get everybody together, Xmas gives us the chance to do so, and for me, that is worth celebrating[y]
Hope everybody has a good one, whatever they do or don't do, everybody's different, lets celebrate that, life would be so dull if we were all the same.

I don't see Xmas as a Christian festival at all and not being a Christian that suits me:D Rather than a time of giving, being with family etc. I'd say that today's Christmas is characterised by extra long lines at M&S, predominantly distasteful light displays and rather large profits at Clintons;)

I have to say the Christmas lights/displays near me dont seem to be that bad this year and there are fewer of them as well. The bad weather over the last couple of weeks is probably something to do with that though. I just have some plane white lights in a tree in my front garden.
Someone today has sent me a Christmas card without a stamp on so the post office want a whopping £1.31 off me to receive it - like that's going to happen!!
Just finished the last of my shopping, so that's Christmas sorted and now it time to start preparing for my MIA trip next week

I used to hate Christmas before i had kids.(i still do in some ways)
I only like christmas now because i like to see their faces light up however i feel it is over commercialised and not what Christmas used to be all about.Christmas only started to get celebrated in the victorian times.(i`ll stop my bible bashing now!)
i am more a new year person because of the socialising done with long time no see friends or as i tell my kids its the grown ups holiday!
Its the only time of year you see your debt mount up just for a day and spend the whole of the next year paying it off just to do it again. Mugs we are!

Was in Lapland last week - Amazing for any of you with kids - worth every penny / cent to see their faces on what to be honest would make all think the big guy exists and is alive and well - In fact I amy do a TR on that trip as we flew with First Choice - anyway if any of you are thinking of going next yeay - Do it - its fantastic - Merry Crimbo
The one thing I really didn't like about Christmas in the UK, meant walking into a department store on the 1st of September and finding tinsel and the like already on display[:0] Give us a break, Summer wasn't even over yet[xx(] It would normally be at least another three months before I started to think about it.
Now that I am living amongst the Bermudians, their attitude is along the same lines as mine. Christmas? 'Alright then, it is the beginning of December, I suppose we really ought to put up some street lights in Hamilton, maybe even a Christmas tree' Absolutely fab[y]

Don't worry, if you ever feel bored of a sunny christmas, just picture us sitting here in the gloominess that is the British winter and be glad that you aren't having tinsel shoved down your throat when all you want to do is to pop into the shops;)

Couldnt agree more - just bracing myself for the first sighting of Caburys cream eggs and Easter eggs on the supermarket shelves come the 1st week of January [:(!]
