I was hoping for an even better Boxing Day sale, or even a new Upper Class one. Guess I will have to go in PE then.

I hate it when that happens too! Unfortunately there's no way of predicting it though. Having worked in marketing departments for over a decade, what I can predict is that even the marketing staff probably don't know what the exact figures will be until shortly before the campaign goes live. I strongly suspect the pricing will be pegged to the excess inventory and competitive activity - neither of which will be known very far in advance.

The best way to look at it is that you got a fare at a price that was good for you at the time of purchase. Then stick your fingers in your ears and go 'la la la' at every other promo until after you've taken your flights... ;)

It happens to us all. Sometimes you get a good deal, sometimes the fares decrease. As pix says, if you thought the price was right when you booked it then that's good.
