Scrooge, you really are the most miserable old goit ;).

Dinner with friends tonight. One is vegi, so we are all having a fish main course - A salmon cooked with caramelised tomatoes and lemons, garnished with caper and olive gremolata. Watercress tarts to start, someone else is bringing the puddings, then cheese and port at about 12:30 to start the new year off.

A happy and prosperous new year to all.

So basically you hate this friend and are starving them? [}:)]

No! Her vegi-ism is on taste rather than moral grounds. So Fishes count as vegetables in her book [y]

Reminds me of someone I knew who would only eat meat from animals that didn't look cute - so no problems with snake...

We're visiting friends in Leamington. I'm taking some booze that has been in my liquor cabinet for far too long (butterscotch schnapps and glava liqueur) to use up.
We'll end up gossiping and then playing buzz and singstar for the rest of the evening probably!
I'll save my congrats for tomorrow :)

It must be a very good beer if your last sentence is anything to go by [:w]

Shall Restate: I am celebrating the New Year now. Blue Moon is a very good beer but the orange is required for the full flavor.

I have just returned from Chicago (AKA Chitown). I was visiting my Grandmother. I have recently learned that I will have Jan. 2 off as President Ford died. I would have like to spend the day with my grandmother but United wanted an extra $250.00 to change my ticket. I am safely in Washington (Clifton, VA) while my parents are in Orlando, FL. How I wish to be retired....

Yeah! I found it strange being in LA at 4pm and realising it was New Year at home. That day Aer John played golf with a group of guys one of whom starred in "Independence Day" Through a series of misunderstandings he walked back two miles from the golf course to the hotel. He just about waited to see the ball go down in Times Square before crashing out for 13 hours!!
