On VS website, regarding SQ it says:

Earning miles:
Miles will be issued to Flying Club members when travelling in the following classes:
First Class: F, A, P
Business Class: J, C, D, Z
Economy Class: Y, B, U, M
Discounted Economy Class: H, K, E, W, L, S

Miles will not be earned for travel in O, I, V, X, Q, G, T, and N classes.

Do we get full or half mileage from Discounted Economy Class tickets (H, K, E, W, L, S)?

Do we get 50% extra as Au?

I am trying to book a LHR-PVG-SIN-PVG-LHR ticket, it's over 1000 pounds! The PVG-SIN return is extremely expensive, more than 600 pounds and still in W class. I am not sure whether this leg will give me TPs and miles.

(Tried LHR-PVG-SIN-LHR, it's even 5 pounds more expensive than the above ticket! The Great Escapade ticket (LHR-PVG-SIN-LAX-LHR) is only 100 pounds more expensive than that.) SQ is a really expensive airline.

Has anyone tried the SQ A340-500 SIN-LAX flight? I've been told it has a special economy cabin, is it high standard?

My past experience with SQ were quite good, but haven't used it in the last 9 years. (Yes, quite a long time now)

You receive full mileage in H,K,E,W,L and S class. You should receive miles if you book in W class. SQ O&D flights are known to be expensive but there are promotions from time to time. However, the really cheapest fares will not earn miles, as you have already pointed out.

Perhaps trying an alternative close destination, other than SIN, such as KUL or CGK, or even BKK - assuming you don't mind flying there as a side trip - may yield cheaper fares.

The SQ A345 rocks. 2-3-2 config. I did a TR on the EWR-SIN flight; the world's longest commercial scheduled flight.
