Personally, for an airlines premium and flagship cabin I don't think that is acceptable.

Agreed, I mean how tough can it be? Oh, I forgot, once you throw in the 'green' gambit it'll shut everyone up.

the Economy kit really does look better then this.

When you're right, you're right.

I guess it's all down to time available to distribute the contents. It's easier to put everything into an amenity pack for PE and Y.
280 people in Y asking for a toothbrush just after breakfast would be a hoot !

However, the quality of the socks, ear plugs and eye shade is better in UC, you also get proper toothpaste and a normal toothbrush. If you need them, they are typically on the bar.

The quality of the limited contents of the J kit are definately better, but the presentation is getting worse. Even if only a for a temporary unexplained period.

What is a passenger going to talk about? How quickly will this bag come up in conversation when talking about a flight? An amenity kit should only be mentioned for one reason - and unfortunately the chances of any VS J passengers talking about it for that reason went about a year and a half / two years ago.

My recent experience contradicted this, and it's that bug-bear 'consistency' issue yet again. On our return from Newark in October, no toothbrush's / toothpaste were in the upstairs toilets, and none were on the bar. I had to ask the crew for these which were brought to me individually - they were no supplies left out upstairs for others to use. As with the whole of the snooze pack debacle, it seems decisions have been made which were simply not thought through at all with regard to how they will work in practice.

Thanks,

David.

I'd say that the Y/PE kits are more of a waste. No one in my family has even touched one of them in the last few years in PE.
Anyway, I'm not sure that when you're flying several thousand miles across the sky the kits are the main cause of pollution;)

Was looking at the Retail Therapy section of the Virgin site and came across these Flightpods.

£6 each and they come in his and hers versions - containing items such as lip balm, deodorant wipe, moisturiser, hair gel
(his) and make up remover (hers).

At £6, it's quite a rip off - don't see a frequent flyer paying for something like this... I suppose some pax may buy it for novelty value. However, it would be good if the new UC amenity pack contained some of these items!

Cheers,
Neal

Bzzz! Hang on, some of those things used to come free in the Y amenity kit!

I preordered two of these pods just out of curiosity, they basically are all the things you used to get free, though everything is in sachets. After paying for them, my tickets came the next day with a little booklet telling me they were "free" onboard. Go figure, lol.

Flying UC SFO-LHR on Friday, then LHR-JNB on Saturday so hopefully I will have something good to report when I get back from vacation. Funnily enough I was chatting with DW last night and pulled out a couple of old versions of the Amenity pack, the cool, beige leather pack from some time ago, with the cool, revitalizing eye mask, and the OB pack which reminded me of the portable, magnetic chess set I had in school - weird. Both were pretty good and had their share of cool stuff, kleenex being a major necessity on fights!
Then DW pulled out her Clarins for Lufthansa First pack - much better, very useful after the flight, with lots of cool features.
