I joined up because I wanted to see what it was that Decker had become so addicted to!

I was on the verge of becoming a V-Flyer widow:)

Like Sarah, I've met some wonderful people here, and have made some very good friends.

Like some other it was searching for information about the levels of service and how to upgrade; I'm not sure whether it was via Google or maybe PPRUNE.

Even though I travel long haul once, perhaps twice, a year there's so much information here about VS and its merits (or otherwise) that allow planning for those and the TR's allow me to travel vicariously.

Paul (who managed this week somehow to talk himself out a work funded, VS PE, gloriously mile netting, trip to South Africa...)

I forgot that I hadn't actually posted how I myself found V-Flyer[:#]

MrG and I were invited to one of the UCS suite launch parties a few years ago, where we were lucky enough to see SRB talking about the UCS and introducing the entertainment for the evening. The next day I did a search to see if there was anything about this on the net where I found some pictures of V-flyers trying the new UCS at the party. I think it was the early days of V-flyer,which made me a massive, long time lurker before I actually joined[:0]

V-Flyer has certainly helped me get the most out of flying with VS, with tips for upgrading with miles and other things.

Long may it continue[oo]

I am new here. I found this site via a link on FlyerTalk. A friend had sent me to FlyerTalk to learn how to maximise Tesco points (though I can't convert them to VS miles) [n] and though my friend is a BA flyer, she mentioned there was a VS section that I should look at. I looked, found the link, and realised there was a ton more info here. Been reading/lurking for a bit and was going to join, but memberships aren't available at the moment.

As a funny aside - went to a movie with said friend and saw the commercial for the new PE seats. Part way through the commercial I realized what it was a commercial for and smugly said to my friend 'Oh, this is for VS PE!' :D

Welcome aboard stars - great to have you here. Hopefully Pete will be able to get the membership sorted out soon for you.

I didn't find V-Flyer, Dean did and told me about it. Then we just got sucked into it all, started whoring ourselves for miles and then met up with some of you folks and have made some great friendships.

I think I found the site via google when looking for info on who knows what. I spent a good four of five hours reading the trip reports and thought I'd give Virgin a try again after years of flying whomever. So a big heads up to Jaguar Pig, Black Cat and Howard Long amongst others for some very entertaining trip reports from back in the day.

I just feel a little miffed I never got to try the square pies.

I was looking for Virgin seat maps on google, when I was a real newby, and then V-flyer cropped up, and hence my knowledge of VS is much enhanced:D.

This is my first post after months of 'lurking' so an easy question to get me posting without making me feel too much of a geek!

As with most of you was looking at online booking to get best deal and was getting confused by all of the various fare classes - V-Flyer came top of the list in Google with the answers... and then I was hooked!

There seem to be relatively large pools of v-flyers who originated from either flyertalk or a.net.

Well it's not surpising in my view. A.net and Flyertalk are, IMO, the biggest aviation communities on the web. V-Flyer is the biggest Virgin Atlantic community on the web. So it's natural that the two would become linked together somewhat.

Yes, welcome to the forum imeck. I hope you find it as enjoyable and useful as all the other V-Flyers here :D

Thank you Decker, to quote Wayne's World, 'We're not worthy'[oo]

I was told about V-Flyer by a member of cabin crew on a flight to JFK about 2 years ago, although I have not been an active member I find that just reading the info on here and drawing together the wealth of knowledge from fellow travellers has helped me get the best out of flying VS. I think I may need to start posting a little more on here. Thanks !![y]

I was planning my trip to australia and wasn't too keen on BA so I did a search on virgin and the rest is history. I've went from being someone without a clue about flying to someone with a bit of a clue thanks to this site!

I found this site in a link on the Virgin Atlantic article on Wikipedia. At the time I was trying to find out some info on the IFE used on the 747-200s but got caught (for a while) being involved in all sorts of threads...which is a good thing I guess :)

Nowadays I stop by to read the posts and reply to anything interesting, as well as post my sightings whenever I am at MAN on a (ir)regular basis.

I basically search google for something relating to VS and this was one of the first sites it listed...
Think I joined back in April 2004, when it was still VirginFlyer..

Can't believe I hadn't found it sooner, remember that first day, when I found it I wasn't working so read all the threads and resources in one long session.

I found V-Flyer whilst searching the internet for seating plans of the Virgin aircraft so that I could decide where to sit. Somewhere along the line the V-Flyer link turned up in a list and here we are I've never looked back, but look in often:D

What... No one has come here because of the "business cards" we all leave lying around in other peoples lounges and aircraft?!?!?![}:)]

I was referred here from PPRune. Went from zero to Gold, 250000 miles and became a Biz class addict in two years. And now I really must stop using the site as an excuse to avoid the work i should be doing!!![:#] And if I'm not reading this site, i'm on expert-flyer or expedia or wherever working out how to most efficiently earn and spend miles.
