Hello,
I am switching from UA as they have no direct flights JFK-LHR. I hate to have to transit thru IAD.
So here I am begging for information on VS.
I fly in paid C mostly Z fares.
Tips, tricks and way to get best fares?
Does VS status match?
Thanks in advance.

VS hardly ever (by which you can read 'never' in all normal circumstances) matches. As for the rest of the tips or tricks, any chance of a clue as to what areas you are interested in? If you skim through threads around this site you will find many areas that might be of use.

I have heard in the past of VS agreeing to status match if you can prove that you will be a regular premium class flyer - presumably by future bookings.

It 'only' takes four transatlantic UC return trips (40 TPs) to attain and then 30 to retain gold on VS anyway.

I have been lurking for a week or so and find the info to be very valueable.
I think I can manage 4 trips.
Cheers!

Indeed, participation in social events is usually restricted to paid members. If you look under your user name, it says that with 6 posts you qualify for red membership. If you click on where it says red membership, you will be able to find out more about the subject. Do note however that there is a thread about the new membership model for VF going on at the moment here

But if you wanted to come along, you could always join :). It would be a long way from New haven though (although a number of our US members will be coming to the social)

!!!!Stop Press!!!!

The PCP has now been opened up to all! So please do feel free to come along if you are around. Details are HERE
