There have been numerous threads about food and other items we would rather see the hind end of, but I haven't seen one asking V-flyers what they WOULD like to see offered.

I'd like to see:
Single-use packs of eye drops, and Breathe-right strips (for the snorers; they really do help). They don't have to be in the kits, but to have them in the lavs or on offer would be useful to many.

More (or any) dinner soup/stew choices in the winter.

Splenda-sweetened fruit juices for those who can't have full-sugar juice (Smuckers makes a really good diet grapefruit juice, as well as a diet cranberry, and V8 makes several flavors).

Just my wish list. What's yours?

The full Beatles collection on V:port.
Good basic food and I am NOT talking about bangers and mash. A curry is always a winner.
Nobody run wild with this one please, a tooth brush that has not been sored in the public restroom.

The "light bites" would be nice, seem to remember them but didn't see them last time.

I think it depends on the route as to whether you get light bites.

SFO & HKG have had them, but I've not seen them on MCO for example.

The MCO menu that day was also used for MIA, so I guess they do not get them either.

[:0]Curry on a 12hr in a confined space with shared WCs[V]

A bit of pipe dream, but I'd like to see PE get its own lounge at LHR/LGW, return of the extras eg. flowers/red pillows etc. in UC, consistently good service in all classes, milk tart on flights from South Africa, lemon and poppy seed muffins in UC, I'm sure I'll think of more;)

Ohh what are light bites?

Things like bacon rolls were on the light bites list as far as I am aware.

On some of the longer flights, and some of the later flights from the UK to the US (though that seems to be a lottery), "lighter bites" are offered as part of the menu in Upper Class.

The lighter bites tend to include things like hot sandwiches (like a steak sandwich), sometimes small pies, things like crab cakes, warmed cheese things, etc.

The lighter bites can be ordered as an alternative to a course in the main meal, and at almost any time during the flight.

I really like them as they are usually simple and therefore hard to screw up (though there have been some misfires like the "fish and chips"). I do miss them on the East Coast flights where they aren't provided.

Cheers,
Mike

Address by name would be nice, they used to do it when they only flew out of LGW, although seeing as on one of my flights I was sitting next to a "David Smith" maybe I'm the reason they stopped doing it ;-)

Taking the addressing by name in PE and above, up until the middle of last year, a supervisor (normally the one in charge of that cabin) used to come up to me to say hello as I was a gold FC member. Just that 2 seconds of effort made all the difference. Happened on every flight till mid last year. Hasn't happened since :-(

As for other stuff:

Perhaps the ability to use miles to get Emergency exit seats when in Economy?
I've never been refused whilst in PE when asking politely for a cappucino from the UC bar, but I always feel like I'm inconvieniencing the cabin crew.
And lastly, a slightly better selection of reading material. Golf, as Mark Twain once said, is a good walk spoiled in my eyes. So, less of the yatching and golf mags, and more perhaps New Scientist, National geographic and perhaps even Private Eye :-)

Suggestions that may cost virtually nothing to implement!

Private Eye & National Geographic! Fantastic!

I fear we are aiming too high though, They have OK magazine onboard - we are only one step away from Heat magazine and Take a Break! :)

Thanks,
Sarah

Though if you ask the crew nicely they usually have heat in the crew rest area :-)

I always assumed the "OK" magazine was the crew's personal copy they were sharing with us? Interesting that the people responsible for mag buying think that the demographics of OK buyers and UC Pax map so well.

Really what is the obsession with Golf magazine? Consistent service, addressed by name in UC / PE, all Gold's welcomed aboard by the FSM, Square Pie's - keep them on the menu as an option just rotate them round frequently "Ask a member of Cabin Crew for today's choice".

Sort out the boarding scrums! Proper managed Priority Boarding, boarding of Economy pax by section so those sitting at the back can get there without having to wrestle past everyone else further forward.

If you're going to have the pies on rotation, would it not be better to make them square?

Fozzyo hit the nail on the head!

Address Au (preferably all UC) by name. A return to earlier service standards, please! Or invent new excellent ones, we'd all be happy.

Boarding... please sort out Priority boarding! It's been improving of late, but keep up the good work - and at all stations. Boarding Y by section would be a nice change for those who fly down the back - other airlines do it, and it works. Speeds things up enormously.

And, finally, please sort out the recurring problem with Priority baggage! When I check my bag, I'd like to get on with what I need to do upon arrival, not wait until the holidaymakers are in line ahead of me before it shows up. It's not that big, it's not that heavy. It just didn't make the J bin again? Nuts...

Other than that, lately my ID says it all! [y]
