Well Hello V-Flyers, I Hope You Dont Mind My Being Here As I Have Never Flown Virgin Before. [:I]

The 'Thing'Is I Would Absolutely Love To Surprise My Partner And Take Him Away This Year In Upper As I Have Heard So Much About It.
The 'Problem' Is, I Am Not On A Particularly Huge Wage And Was Wondering If Anybody Could Let Me Know The Most Cost Affective Destination/Flight. I Only Really Need To Know About The Flights As I will Book All The Rest Seperately.

Thankyou For Your Help.
Lucy.
Oh And I Must Say How Very Impressive This Site Is! [^]

DXB (Dubai) has cheap Upper Fares most of the year. Orlando tends to have low Upper Class fares in the off-seasons.

Thanks,
Richard

P.S Welcome to the site, you don't have to capitalise every word!

Welcome to the site Lucy, finding a good UC fare can be tough at times, being in the right place kind of thing, keep an eye on the VS website as cheap fares do pop up every now and again.

Be warned with DXB - the FLIGHTS are cheap, the HOTELS might not be... ;)

I was going to recommend DXB as well, but Paul has a good point;) How far ahead are you looking at booking?

Well hotels in DXB are expensive if you go during the peak times that every one wants to go. July is cheap but hot in Dubai. The Hilton Dubai Creek is about US$170 late July. Small but nice lounge and Gordon Ramsey place (that has a crap breakfast and dinner was not so hot either).

Rooms are great!

I thought the breakfast was good and we ate either at the pool or in the Issimo bar (same menu as room service). It suited us fine

I agree with Ben. Dubai was one of the places I looked at for my 40th this year. August is one of the cheapest months, the Hilton is still showing about £90+tax per night. Problem is the heat it gets into the mid 40's thats well over 100 degrees in old money.

Thaknks for all the info.
I can go anytime as i dont have kids or any real ties.
Has anybody gone for less than two weeks? and if so was it worth it?.
If i were to go it would be in July/August purely for the £-factor.
Also i have looked on VS website for July/August, does £1100 in Upper (lowest) sound about right?
Sorry for being so clueless and once again, thankyou for all of your help.
Lucy.

That sounds about right - don't think I've ever seen a < £1K UC fare.

We went to Dubai in August three years ago for five nights. It was HOT, but the heat was a dry heat and, as such, was bearable.
We found that five nights was just about right for us, we had a great hotel on the beach with a half board deal, which made it excellent value.

Have a great trip.

We went to Dubai last year for four nights and it suited us fine. We managed to do everything we wanted to do in that time
