A good friend of mine has recently travelled in UC with VS and got chatting to the FSM. He commented that the amenity kit was a bit pants! - she told him that Virgin will soon be unveiling a new amenity kit featuring Dolce and Gabbana products!!:D

Its a rumour - but don't forget you heard it here first!![:w]

Oh and as I dont use any D&B products I haven't a clue what it's likely to contain - style gurus please step forward![|:)]

According to EGG's trip report it's going to have Molton Brown products. I'm sure that EGG would not make a mistake when it comes to style products [8D]

Well that could well be the case - unfortunatley it wasn't me on the flight but a very good friend who is well briefed in the "ways of Virgin"

But hey, if they are going to bring out a new (overdue) amenity kit then they have probably tested a number of products!!

I guess we will just have to wait and see - but we could start a book -

Dolce and Gabbana - 11/4 on
Molton Brown - 21 on
Virgin Vie - Evens
Versace - 3-1
Great smell of Brut - 10-1
Lynx and Shield soap - 25-1

Personally I'd be surprised if it does as Molton Brown has a deal/arangement currently with BA (Molton Brown Spas at LHR,JFK club kits etc) . I'd be more than happy if I'm proved wrong though as their lip balm is far superior to the vile red tubed gloop that VS now offer as (cough loudly) an "extra".Their other products are rather nice too.

Molton Brown - haven't BA got a big tie-in with them on their First Class product? If so, I can hardly see VS wanting the same brand in their new UC amenity kit. That said, anything is an improvement on the Scrooge Pack.

Maybe VS are considering 2 new versions of the UC amenity kit... a classy one for the LHR fleet & a Burberry one for the LGW/MAN fleet!

Molton Brown are definitely associated with BA and as well as the spas as the airport also have or had Molton Brown product in their Club Word and First cabins as well as WCs in these locations.

When travelling Jet Airways (India) recently we were given Bulgari amenity kits and very nice they were two.

Frankly I will be surprised if it is anything more than Virgin Vie or VS branded stuff.

Paul

BTW, we were introduced to the Jet Airways chairman who was likened by the person do the introduction to Richard Branson - I nearly said 'so you will do a fantastic job building up the airline for the next 10-20 years and then hand over the running to the accountants who will slowly run it into the ground for you', but I thought better of it!.

Oh give me Imperial Leather & be done with it.
I would be thrilled if the kits went back to 'the old days' when UC was given 2 pouches of goodies. (1997/99) Happy days..........

You shouldn't get any takers at those odds, the overround is grossly overweighted in your favour, 2 odds on shots - LOL [:p]

What odds do I get for a tin of Swarfega and a stiff scrubbing brush?

(NB. The scrubbing brush won't actually be in the amenity kit, but they will be available to all UC pax in a box behind the loo).

Surely Cowshed products would make sense - they use them in the Spa and Revivals.

They are going to be Cowshed products. I have seen them they are much better. I think we will all like them.

Indeed - and their quirky style would fit with the UC image..... perhaps! :)

No MB in First class only in CW and the terraces spas/washrooms(worldwide).The previous First BAgs had REN products the new brown hard sided ones have Kiehls of New York products. Can't see MB doing VS stuff as NGCW features MB products in it's new washbag.

Cowshed would make the most sense for VS from an existing custom point of view and also they both have similar images as McCoy said.

While I agree that Cowshed products would make the most sense, lets not forget that there is precedent for the D&G tie-in in the form of the old OB kits...

Way back on December 14th in the "Snooze Pack Makeover" thread, I did say that the new amenity kits would feature Cowshed products [ii]

Perhaps I should mention (again) that the launch date is tomorrow [:w]

Thanks for that Marc. So we should expect to see some early reviews and possibly some pics over the next few days [y]

Cool, can we claim some retrospectively after being given the 'plastic bag' on both legs of our LHR-DXB flights over Christmas [:p]

Hmm. Read the comments on MB and seem to remember there WAS an old VS kit which had MB in it. I think I have one somewhere, will have to see (and clean out the closet while I'm at it, since it must be ooolllldddd). I think it was pre-SOMA.

Waiting for my new Cowshed - please let there be a good lip balm! I absolutely detest the old crankcase stuff in that red/brown tube. [n]

The old black pouches, of which I have several, had MB stuff in them together with the little jars of balms and unguents. Much the best contents ever I think. (what do I do with the padlocks I acquired a few years ago?).

My overall favourites were the American leather pouch in 1st for it's overall usefulness, the AF 1st kit for it's design and the Thai 1st kit for the big Bulgari bottles.
