New York Hotels

Hi all,

Thinking of taking a last minute trip to New York. We would like to stay in midtown. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best hotels to stay in. I have look on the VA website but there are so many to choose from.

I always use Trip Advisor to check out reviews of potential hotels. I guess it all depends on your budget as NYC has so many hotels at such a big difference in cost between, my personal fav is the Renaissance Times Square, not the grandest hotel but very nice, big rooms, excellent location and you can usually get good rates too, VH does some excellent rates and then you get your 10% FC discount too.

We loved the Westin New York (at Times Square) - fantastic rooms, good atmosphere and perfect location. It's offered by VH (& if going now I'd definitely book thru' VH owing to the x6 miles on AMEX black) but when we went (a year & a half ago,) even taking into account the 10% VH discount, we found it was considerably cheaper to book hotel direct with Starwood (who own Westin) and flights direct with VA. We also avoided VH's credit card charge & earned miles, as Westin is a VA hotel partner [y]
