As previously mentioned we are flying on VS075 on Friday 9th February, with Virgin for the 1st time.[y]
Due to time of year is it likely to be a lighter loaded fight in economy or are Manchester flights always heaving?

Cheers
Martin.

Kids half term break big play a big part for mid feb. I would guess that the chances of a bigger load are quite high for then...:D

msgreen44,

Half-term seems to fall around the time you're travelling this year, so I'd imagine the load factor to be pretty high. I know of people who skived off the last day before a half-term when I was at school to go to Tenerife. I was a good boy and was in every day without fail[|:)]

Getting back to your question expect a fair busy flight enjoy the Virgin and the Floridian experience, and let us know how you got on when you return [y]

Hi

We flew VS075 on 28th September, when you would expect 'light loads'. However VS cancelled the afternoon service, VS073, and bumped everybody to the morning flight, presumably to compensate for the lack of load.

As this is primarily a B&S route, you are unlikely to have 'light loads' so close to half term. As VS075 says, enjoy the flight (especially the cold beer[:w]) and Florida.

p.s. Dont forget the TR!

Thanks for info.

As mentioned, I suppose it will partly depend on whether the other flight is on or cancelled.

Are you allowed to take a bucket 'n' spade on as hand luggage?:D

Must admit we do fall into the B&S category - must admit that the flight does not constitute a major part of the holiday in my mind and therefore my expectations are correspondingly lower - As long as they sit us (2 ads & 1 chd) together and get us there roughly on time and in safety, I'll be happy.

Cheers

If you booked direct with VS or through VH you should have a reference that will enable you to access the "Manage My Flights" on the VS website. This allows you to pre-select your seats , opinions about which can be derived from a use of the "Which Aircraft" (to find the type of aircraft, though being ex MAN it should be a 747/400 LGW/MAN Suite) and "Seat Ratings" tools on the V-Flyer site. About 60% (or is it 40%?) are made available in this way.

Closer to the time - well, 24 hrs prior to be exact - you should then be able to select your seats using the VS On Line Check In facility which opens up all the remaining seats save for the bulkhead and exit seats (which are only assigned at check in) and so you may be able to get a "better" seat.

Hope this helps

Glad to hear it [^]. People taking their children out of school for holidays during term time can really stitch up a school in terms of attendance records (all of which count toward league tables and other such malarkey).

We're applying for 'authorised absence', so should hopefully not affect our primary school's excellent record.
