Ok we all want our flights etc to be wonderful including food, IFE ,seats , massage etc- Without being silly, Vigin have always been generally the first to bring something new to the experience of flying- Now, how can they continue to be a market leader by being creative and giving its flyers someting to remember. Ok it seems that they are now putting the Virgin name on the "Clubhouse Experience".We all know this is the No1. Has anybody thought about how VS can really take a step forward and bring the whole VS experience back to the "glory days". Maybe SRB and his team has sat back to see what SIA/BA/CATHAY have brought to the market and will take the best off all and introduce the new UC - incorporating the best of them all. We all know UC is still a great product but maybe getting a bit tired. Does anybody think UC wiull be upgraded soon or will we continue to see the the possible decline of UC with the competition launching new and more what seems exclusive products -

Indeed.

You're the one entering the same old questions, again and again and again while showing disturbingly little in the way of manners towards other posters (as in my link above) discussing what is actually interesting to them.

You know what - I know that you like to keep a certain way of not repeating certain questions etc but If I want to ask and start a forum on the above I will - Ignore if you want , all I want to do is generate an interest and see and know others will reply , I know you have posted 10000ssss and are fed up with maybe questions being repeated but take a step back and " it will be asked again and again" so relax -I dont / or am trying to piss u off at all - leave it alone and let what I have out. either die or be run over again - no need for you agression - K

Anyway, back to Keith's "original" question. Anyone got any thoughts...?

Preiffer , no offence but it seems that we need a bit of honesty here mate - VS needs a serious kick in the ass and we all bloody wake up call to either get some ideas that maybe our beloved VS will listen too or become another "airline" - thats all that concerns me - honest - K

I was going to reply, but then compared to the things happening in my life I just thought 'boring'.

I have to go to Shanghai in May - Business class ok - but should I save myself Û400 by going through France/ Frankfurt etc or enjoy VS and go through the hell hole of Heathrow (the security in HTR is a fec kin joke for transit passangers - last time it took 2 hrs - bull- yet I love VS = will I continue with VS - Only if they maintain being what they always have been - No 1

Dare I go off topic

Probably an improvement;)[ii]

It depends what criteria you judge being #1 with. For example, VS wins hands down for the CH and quirkiness but not so with, say, consistency.

Oh all right then, boring the thread may be but I find plenty of evidence of VS listening and improving:

- recent TRs (apart from 'mate' language) seem very positive as to the manner of and service by the crew, whether this is a consistent improvement or spot observation time will tell
- PE is surely the best product of its type on any carrier, compare this to BA - and the improvements are great
- Lufthansa, Air France, Emirates (all carriers I use more frequently than BA) have good to really poor seats and business/UC products (though often the wine is better!) whereas all VS planes have the UCS and for sleeping it is still my no. 1 (OK I haven't flown SQ first)
- new routes are good - albeit that Nairobi is one I'm not forecasting a need for

Yes there are still several good whinges to have (large and small), however I find UC consistently better, on average, than other airlines in my experience, and when it's great it really is great. And PE with the new cabin, meal service, seat is excellent. So I'm still behind VS as my carrier of choice.

Keith,

You're right!:D This site is not about arguing, pi$$ing people off etc. However, I'm sure that by now you have come to realise the type of attitude and etiquette that is expected of participants on v-flyer. Consequently, I think that both the site and your enjoyment of it would be greatly enhanced by adherence to these expectations. I can think of several occassions when your topics have caused tension; most with a recurring point of argument i.e. repetitiveness. You must have picked up on this. To this end, I would hope that you show a bit more discretion and elegance with your topic postings from now on, taking into account the expected level of "netiquette" on v-flyer.
Consequently, I belive that your enjoyment of the site would be vastly increased if you were not forever having to argue with other members which, frankly, is not what v-flyer is about.

I hope I've been able to make my point well with this post and have not caused too much distress among fellow v-flyers[8D]
This is not a rant at you, Keith, I just feel that there is no need for all this contention on v-flyer.

I think that comment is bang out of order.

I make no apologies for saying this again - why not try a search before posting something that has been discussed many times previously - then if you think its worthy of an update then post and link the previous post so that others can think "oh yeah - this needs an update - good topic - lets comment again" Surely then we will keep the site fresh and interesting!! Yawning and deleting posts/threads does no-one any favours!!

....and repetitiveness. And maybe lack of variation combined with restricted disparity and deviation, limited distinction and potentially the suitability of the antonym similarity or even consistency.

All possibly descriptors that would not be applied to VS, especially the last one.

Hang on, have I argued VS should be more P911? Do we have a new piece of VF jargon?

Ok Mark , I see your point but lets see if anybody does have any ideas , or know of something about to happen etc!

I think Keith's point was that the forum membership would be the judge of whether this topic would sustain an interesting discussion, if not it would wither, so to speak. Given that it's been up for three days, runs to 2 pages and almost none of the responses answer the OP question, I'd say it has done just that.

Regards

Amenity kits - well now thats worth talking about- Seriously, will VS upgrade the UC seats as the PE have been just upgraded . I was speaking to a guy from Cork who works for Apple the other day who flys to Shanghai every month and he said the suite on his last trip out looked very worn indeed , maybe even a face lift would be on the cards as the product itself is very good.

I hear that VS may be replacing the J2000 seats with self contained, fully flat beds - or 'suites'. If so, I think it could really take off.
