I was speaking to a guy from Apple the other day who flys to Shanghai every month and he said the suite on his last trip out looked very worn indeed , maybe even a face lift would be on the cards as the product itself is very good.

Well I doubt much would of changed since you asked the exact same question 3 months ago, where the replies informed about the improvements that are being done to the suite to make it more durable and how a change is not on the cards!!

Yeh! That is a hell of an idea to improve VS. The comedian could go round to these new suite things and wake you up to tell you a gag. Nice one[y]

Mark, please do not offer up idea's that the bean counters will be happy to put in place, of course the VS marketing dept. will come up with some fantastic looking ad for it.

Hey - TECHNICALLY the largest "fully flat bed" in the sky. And just LOOK at the Clubhouse [y];)

talking about the clubhouse, don't you think they should make it more 'club-like'. They could make it exclusive to members and their guests only, with membership limited to Au an UC pax only.

Oh come on, get serious, next your going to say they should have a restaurant in this "club house" thing or even more out there some place to get your hair cut, right like an airline is ever going to do that [ii]

Please correct me if I am wrong but is the Club House in Heathrow and Gatwick not just for UC passangers and guests and SIA first if they decided to go there instead? Can it be booked forward for say PE passangers? And maybe of course the highest tier VS card holders as well.

It can be booked by VH passengers - LGW is £35 and LHR £60! You get one treatment included in the price. So you can be flying Y and still have access.

And through the summer there was an offer for PE passengers to use the LGW clubhouse!

The Clubhouse can be accessed by SQ passengers travelling in First or Raffles (Business) Class. Revivals access is granted only to SQ First passengers arriving on flight SQ322.

Thanks,

David.

Ummm. OK. Here's the secret:

This guy is a WIND-UP!!! He loves it when you give him a serious answer to his ridiculous questions and he loves it even more when you react angrily or with frustration (trust me on THIS point [}:)]). So stop!

Next time you see a post by this delightful goofball, just imagine it's a big fat STOP sign and do not reply. You might employ the same technique with me, come to think of it.

Now, back to our regular programming.

GJ

Oh be fair GJ - everyone deserves a chance to have their question answered, even if it is 16 times!! [:w]

Four things I would like to see;

1) VS get their boarding/queuing facility (certainly at LGW) sorted. It's a bloomin' mess

2) A separate Clubhouse which rather like Continental etc, where you can pay to join regardless of the class you are flying. Then the Original Clubhouse could become the UC/Gold only section

3) The ability of children to accrue miles regardless of what level in FC the parent is. I pay for my son to fly UC, yes the cost is slightly less than adult fare, a lot more than economy fare but no miles. (then again, even flying in Econ he would not get any miles) But why should he be denied his earned miles? how does this make future adult passengers loyal to VS?

4) Same UC benefits at ALL flying hubs in the UK!
i.e. same quality of clubhouse and entrance ability, same quality of IFE, Same quality of services available.

Its the lack of consistancy and for my part, the dual class of UC passenger, LHR vs LGW/MAN. Why should people who fly from LGW/MAN whio I would assume pay for their seats in the main themselves, feel like second class UC passengers to the LHR (mostly) "buisness/company pays for my flights" brigade??

Any flight Virgin do isn't long enough for such a tutorial!!!!! You'd need a flight to Alpha centauri (Via Huddersfield) to accomplish that!

Whilst I appreciate that you may be more accustomed to lurking under bridges etc, I'll bite and offer that I'm sat in thre clubhouse right now and it's empty!!!!

However, another thought has occured to me.... Unless you call up three weeks in advance, there's no chance of getting a massage if you ask on the day.... [:(!]

So, some work needs doing here. Either abolish the reservation system or get more staff in...

I'm due my first flight on Virgin this October so I don't know if this exists, but I'd like a nose camera so I can see what the driver can see, especially on take off and landings. Hopefully someone will reply saying that exists and I can look forward to looking out from my UC seat.

Fingers crossed.

This has been discussed several times, lots of people would like to see this, but Virgin don't offer this on their IFE.

There has been a fair amount of debate as to whether they are able to, but the bottom line is that they don't.

Mark it seems as though this policy has changed - see the email I received from Virgin directly as I was trying to organise this for somebody I know who will be flying to the states in June -

Dear Keith,

Thank you for your email and apologies for the delayed response.

The use of our Clubhouse lounges are limited to Upper Class passengers, Flying Club Gold members and American Express Centurion card holders. We have determined that in order to compete successfully in the international market place, we must provide quality lounges for those passengers paying a Business Class fare for their travel.

Whilst we would like to extend the hospitality of the lounge to all who request it, the demand would far exceed the capacity available. Therefore, we must reply within standard policies and decline such requests.

Thank you for contacting Virgin Atlantic Airways.

Kind Regards,
Contact Centre Customer Service Team

You need to make the reservation through Virgin Holidays, and have booked your flight through Virgin Holidays - they have a very limited allocation each day. See this page.

I'm sure UK Centurion card holders will be pleased to see this confirmed - it has been under debate recently.

Interesting comment at the end of the page about the Heathrow Clubhouse for directions:

"Follow the signs to Departures and choose the FastTrack option through customs."

What did you actually ask them for, Keith?

Sounds like the standard response to a "please let me in - I have no reason to be let in, but please...?" letter.
